[Character: Aly Durrand] [Location: Peirside]
Aly hated her sling and her arm. The pain was very minimal. Yet she had to have her arm in a sling. Why you ask? Because the stupid doctor said so. He said her muscles were still healing. So she had to wear the sling. It sucked to have your arm in a sling 24 hours. Well not exactly. She did get to keep her arm down when she went to bed, but it sucked. Aly decided she needed to have a drink.
Aly walked into Peirside with her fake ID. She took a seat at the bar and messed with her sling. It was very uncomfortable. She kept messing with it when the bartender came over and gave her a look. "What can I get you pretty lady?" The bartender asked with a smile. Aly smiled back of course and put on her flirty smile. ""How about a sex on the beach?" Aly said to him. The bartender nodded and did not even ask to look at her ID.
She smirked and sat back in the bar stool and waited for the bartender to bring her drink. it was great. The wonders of being pretty and flirting. Aly took out her phone to check for texts, but nothing. So she tapped the bar with her manicured nails and waited for her drink. It would feel good to finally have a drink. Good news...she could drink because she was not on her pain medications any more. bad news. The sling was annoying.

One of the benefits of a) being tall and b) looking far older than he actually was made it easy for Felipe to enter bars. He'd forgotten the last time he'd been asked to show any identification - which was just as well as anything he had would scream his true age. He'd dressed to add to the effect in a black shirt and dark charcoal combat pants. Alol in all he looked the very picture of a mid-twenties man out for some fun.
He dropped down onto a tall stool and lifted a finger to summon the barman. "Do you have Skol?" he asked, referring to Brazil's main beer make. The guy shook his head. "Corona?" A nod this time.
"Lemon or lime wedge?" asked the man.
"Lime," Felipe replied. "It always needs to be lime."
The barman grinned and turned away to open a bottle, ramming the lime wedge into its neck before passing it to Felipe who nodded his thanks and turned to face away from the bar before taking a sip.
A girl not all that far away was tapping against the counter. She didn't look all that old - probably under-aged just as he was - and so he edged a little closer. She looked vaguely familiar but he could hardly ask her if she went to the local school while they were within earshot of the barman.
"Hi," he said instead. "I hate to sound like I'm hitting on you and I swear this isn't some kind of line but I'm sure I've seen you before... around... ah... town maybe?" Hopefully she'd realise that by 'town' he really meant school.

The girl looked at him a little blankly, making Felipe feel a little more than a touch self-conscious.
"I think I amde a mistake," he said as he drew on his bottle of Corona. "I was sure I knew you ... ya knaw... " he leaned closer. "... from school." Felipe drew back. "I think I was mistaken," he added in uncertainty.
He finished his beer and headed away from the bar, not all that sure he hadn't made a total ass out of himself and yet the day was young... Plenty of time yet for him to work on that... right?

To say Aly was in her right frame of mind would be wrong. She was no where near her right mind. So when the guy talked to her, she did not hear him right away and ignored him for a bit. Which was very rude and Aly felt horrible. It did not occur to her that this hot guy was talking to her until he began to walk away from the bar. Aly took her drink and got off the bar stool and walked over to him, "I am sorry." She said. "That was rude of me, but my head is not with me right now. Ever since last week I have been not here." She said with a smile. "Forgive me." She hoped he did.
Aly did not like being too rude to people unless they deserved it and this guy did not deserve it at all. "In response to your questions which just occurred to me you asked. I am Aly. I go to Gould. Please come back, have a seat." Aly offered with a smile. "I know I was rude and that is not like me, but you caught me in the middle of my mind running away from me. One of these days I will need to go find it." She laughed. She pointed to her arm which was in a sling, "since last week, I have not been myself." She admitted.

(OOC I sort of leapt into another thread after my last add as I thought you were away :/ Am I allowed to be in 2 threads in the same time change? I'm happy with it and can have this one happening just before the other one. Confused yet? Me too LOL but will add anyway and if I can't do the 2 threads the mods will shout... right?) Felipe turned back when he heard the girl speak and he smiled in relief. He'd thought he'd either said something wrong or had intruded in some way. He was glad he'd done neither. Felipe dropped back down to sit at the bar, twisted slightly so that he could face her. "Aly," he greeted. "I am Felipe." He looked down at her arm as she spoke. "I am sorry to see you have hurt yourself and I promise that if I find your mind I will quickly return it to you!" He laughed with her and started to relax once more. "Can I buy you another drink?" he asked, gesturing towards her virtually empty glass. The barman wandered over and Felipe pointed to Aly's glass. "One of those again and another Corona with..."
"... Lime... I remember," the man said with a friendly smile.
"So how did you hurt your arm?" he asked as he turned back to Aly. "Did it happen in last week's troubles? So many people were hurt that day. I was lucky enough to escape that myself."
Very lucky indeed as Felipe knew he'd come close to receiving a bullet in his head for helping Bree out of her tight corner.

(OOC: It's okay. I never meant to leave you hanging like that. Like I said. Last week was hell on wheels. Just tell the Mods to blame me, lol...besides who would not want to split Felipe in half)
Aly smiled, thankful Felipe was going to forgive her. Felipe did not deserve Aly's cold demeanor. He was worthy of her talking to him. Besides Aly needed to play nice. She did not have the strength to play mean. She walked with him back to the bar and took a seat. "I would love one. Thank you. So why are you drinking tonight? And thanks for helping me find my mind." A;y said with a smile and a laugh. She looked at the bartender and smiled. He knew her drink. No need to repeat the name.
Aly nodded, "Yes, i got shot last week. But its not as bad as it looks. The blood loss was worse then the shot, but the sling is a necessary evil. I think a lot of people were lucky last week." Aly said with a smile. "Thank you for the drink. I owe you the next one." She assured Felipe. "So how are you enjoying Gould so far?" She did not want to talk about the shooting at all. It was something she would rather forget.
"I was thinking the school should do something. have a dance or something. Just something for both schools. Something fun. Any ideas?" Aly had a lot of time to think the week school was out and she could use the opinions of others.

(OOC no - absolutely not your fault! Real life always comes first!)
"Yes they were lucky," he agreed. "Although a few..." He didn't need to finish his sentence as they both knew some students hadn't lived through it. "As for the drink... my pleasure, Aly," he added with a smile. "I suppose the reason I'm here is... " Why was he sitting in the bar? Whay was he downing his second bottle of Corona? Ok, so the Mexican beer wasn't exactly heady stuff but it was still alcoholic. "I sippose I had a need for company," he told her. "Being so new to town I( do0n't know many people. Not anyone well enopugh to call them and meet up. I'm used to being with a large group of friends back in Sao Paolo and I suppose that's the hardest part of coming here. Starting over again, you know?"
He laughed. "Listen to me," he said with a wry grin. "I sound so full of self pity and yet you are sitting there with a bullet wound. I should not be so ungrateful."
He took a sip of his beer before moving on to answer her last question. "I only have had the one day at school so far. The day of the shooting. I was supposed to start at Silver... Its a little hard for me to really know what to make of school so far as I think I probably didn't have what could be called a normal first day." An understatement? Only of the century.
"So Aly... what do you do in your free time? I mean other than sit in bars and get picked up by weird Brazilians," he teased.

Aly just nodded. There was no need for Felipe to say more. "I say we toast to those who had fallen last week. Hopefully they are happy where ever they are." Aly was not particularly religious but she did believe in an afterlife and she believed it was a place where dreams came true. It was something that helped her sleep since she lost a few loved ones from New York. Family members die. It happens. Although Aly never would have thought in a million years people her own age would die. It was true. Teenagers did believe they were invisible sometimes. Aly scribbled her number down on a napkin and slide it over to Felipe, "Well now you know me. So feel free to call so we can hang." She smiled.
"No your first day was far from normal. High school is not like that. Usually its boring and full of bitchy cheerleaders like myself who like to try and be on top of the food chain. Although now I am not sure I could be considered a cheerleader anymore. I am out for the season. The doctor said my arm won't heal fully for a few months. Until it heals no flips, pyramids and round offs for me." Aly admitted. "Please I would rather listen to your self pity then talk about me being shot." Aly assured Felipe, "By the way, it does not sound like self pity to me." She said as she smiled.
"For fun....me.....I am not sure I even know what fun is to be honest. I tend to be a tad serious. The most fun I had was stooping to my step sisters level and pulling a prank on her. Not necessarily one of my finer moments, but it was fun." She told him. "Other then that I like to hang with my friends, shop of course, read, even study....yeah not sure I would say any of that is fun except the friends part. Not even shopping is that fun." Aly said with a sigh. "What about you....what would you like to do for fun around here? I mean have you heard about anything in America or Californa for that matter you would like to do."

"Back home I used to fence," he said. "You know... with a sword, not the building kind of fencing. I hope to start that again here but am struggling to find a place where I can continue to learn," he said with a wry smile. "I asked at school but its not available there. I think there is a club near a place called Marina del Rey that isn't all that far from here. Do you know of it?" he asked.
"Other than that... I haven't had a lot of time to see what else is on offer around here but I am sure I will be able to find something to do for fun! I will soon qapply to join the drama club at school and I am sure there is a soccer team I can try out for."
He drew deeply from his bottle of Corona. "So far, though, everyone I have met has been friendly and very welcoming. In that, at least, I have been very lucky." He called the barman over. "Do you have a local map I could borrow?"
"Sure," came the reply and a small folded one was handed over. Felipe spread it across the counter. "Marina del Rey..." he murmured. "Any idea where it might be?" he asked Aly.

"Just becareful when someone tells you something is not far here in LA. When someone tells you its close, the place can still be about half an hour to fourty five minutes away." Aly said with a laugh, "But in this case your sourse is right. Its not terribly far far from here. Fencing was popular at the school I use to go to back in New York." Public schools had football, private schools had fencing back in New York. Aly was a professional shopper so she was use to Marina del Ray. The shoppes there were exquisite. Not to mention the day trips to Catalina.
"If you do start going you have to check out Marina del Ray. Its gorgeous. You can rent a boat, go kayaking, even take day trips to Cataline or cocktail cruises if your old enough." Aly smirked as she raised up her glass. "There is so much to do at the Marina, that you could get lost for a day and a half. I never knew they had a fencing club in the area." Aly had never thought of it because Fencing was not her thing. "Well Silver does have a drama club and soccer team.....I think. I would assume so. Gould has one."
Aly looked over the map and searched for a moment. "Its right there. Did the person tell you what are exactly?" She asked. "It does not matter once you get there exploring is half the fun. The beach is just so nice. You will have to go one day and take a tour guide or someone you know. You can get lost there." Aly smiled. She loved Marina del Ray. She should tkae Jasper one day if he ever would actually agree. That guy could be a stubborn ass. Aly shook thoughts of Jasper from her head. "It really is a great place to spend the day."
