Since lunch, Evan had been craving spring rolls, from not having his fill of someone else’s, so before the meeting of like-minded, devious minds could commence, he passed by a Chinese fast food joint, loading up on dozens of the yummy goodness, as well as a few other dishes, in case someone didn’t share his love of spring rolls. And partly to ensure he got more. Then a quick trip to a convenience store to stock up on fizzy drinks and chocolate for desert, he was all ready for the scheming, and the planning, and the scheming. Especially the scheming, oh how Evan loved the scheming.
Coming home, he left the door open, expecting people to show up soon. Being the perfect host, he grabbed out glasses, forks and plates, figuring that would be all they needed, before throwing it all along with the food on the living room table. For something to do while he waited for people to turn up, he couldn’t sit in silence after all, it’ll be far too boring and drive him crazy, he threw on Anchorman, grabbed one of the few bags of spring rolls, propped his feet up on the lounge, and got to watching.
He heard a noise, but seeing how he was almost up to the cannonball scene, so it wasn’t enough to make Evan look up away from the screen just yet. “Come in!” he called out, his attention firmly glued on the screen. “I’ve got Chinese! It’s really good, help yourself before I eat it all. I mean seriously, I’m hungry.”

Barnyard animals had been on the agenda for well over a month now, and Patch Kimball had never been very good at waiting. So he was naturally quite enthused that Evan had managed to get things underway -- finally!! And of course meeting up at friends' houses was always a good time, even if they did nothing except screw around, so of course he didn't hesitate to accept the invitation to the Hughes' household -- he had to take advantage of the fact that he wasn't grounded anymore, after all, which meant spending as much time as possible at other people's domains. When they weren't with their respective dates, of course, which was always kind of irritating, but nobody listened to him when he complained that all his friends were neglecting their actual friends for their significant others.
Apparently he was the first to arrive; he let himself in almost before Evan shouted at him to go ahead and come in. "Dude, listen to this," He demanded, shoving his mp3 player at his friend. He didn't actually expect Evan to remember any of the myriad bands he was constantly rotating through, which was why he occasionally bothered to burn CDs full of what he considered top-notch music and foisted copies upon his friends -- or at least, the guys. He generally forgot that Mallory and Brittany existed when doing anything for "friends", because they were really the girlfriends of friends, not friends proper -- even if he did enjoy teasing Mal.
He waited for Evan to take the precious music porting device before bounding over to the food, inhaling appreciatively, "Mmm, smells delish!" He announced, pondering whether he was going to be civilized and use the utensils Evan had so thoughtfully placed on the table. No, he was not going to be civilized, he decided, grabbing several spring rolls with grubby, unwashed hands and strolling over to plop himself on the couch beside the other boy. "Who all's s'pposed to be here?" He inquired between bites.

There was no mistaking the familiar clomping of sneakers when Patch came in, even if Evan kept his eyes glued on the movie playing out in front of him. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted his friend holding something out to him, and could guess what it was from Patch’s ‘polite request.’ “Just one sec, the good bit is about t.... Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention. I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. I need all of you, to stop what you're doing and listen. Cannonball!” he repeated word for word, moving to crouch on the couch, as if he was about to do his own dive off the furniture. Or at least jump up and down, a la Tom Cruise. But, he wouldn’t go that far. He wasn’t lame after all.
With that important work done, Evan managed to drag his attention away from the film, grabbing the player, shoving the earphones in his ear but turning it down just a little before he started to listen, knowing well how loud his friend liked to listen to his music. Watching the other start to tuck into more rolly goodness reminded him he had far from enough to eat. “Well, I sent a message to the usual gang. Brit, don’t worry, I’ll wait till you leave before trying to make out. Mal said she’ll be here. Also sent messages to...um... he tried to remember, but it was hours ago after all. He couldn’t be expected to remember something that happened that long ago. “JJ and Ian, but with Zac being, you know.” he frowned softly.
Wanting to change the now sour mood, he turned the focus back to the music playing in his ears, grabbing a spring roll out of Patch’s hands to munch on. Hopefully the others would turn up soon, he was so excited to get the prank underway. And now Patch had got his mind on a make out session with Brit, and the sooner they had everything planned, the sooner he could ‘seduce her’. Though, to be perfectly honest, he was kinda hoping for more than just a make out session. “What’s this I’m listening to anyway?”

Brittany had been feeling a little stretched thin lately. Aly was mostly okay, but things were still weird since she'd been shot and her arm was still in that sling. Zac was okay....well, he would be okay. He'd pretty much gotten it worse than anyone else. But it was at least clear that he was going to survive. Even if it would be awhile before he could go back to normal. At least a week...maybe longer. Brittany wasn't sure. Band practices as well as their weekly stint at the bowling ally had been put on hiatus for now though.
But with all the craziness still surrounding her thanks to the school shooting and the gang violence, she'd been really happy to receive Evan's text earlier that day. It felt good to know they were meeting up to plan a prank they'd been working on for awhile. It seemed like maybe it meant that things were finally going back to normal. Not completely normal of course, after all, she and Evan were having sex now, but still that part of the abnormality was good.
Brittany skateboarded over to the Chinese place where they had set up to meet. She wasn't exactly sure who all would be there, but as she approached she saw Evan and Patch. Well, of course Patch would be in on this. Probably Mal would be on her way too. Brittany hadn't really talked to too many people today for some odd reason so she was still a bit out of the loop.
She leaned her skateboard against the wall before joining the two boys at the table. She grabbed the chair next to Evan and grabbed a spring roll. "Hi guys," she said. She gave Evan a quick kiss on the cheek but left it at that since she knew that Patch was uncomfortable with anything having to do with couples of public displays of affection. She took a bite of the spring roll, finding herself quite hungry even though she had had a decent lunch.
"So...farm animals...cheerleaders, guess we should start planning, huh?" Brittany said, raising her eyebrows.

Patch made a face at Evan for even mentioning making out with Brittany, giving an exaggerated shudder. "Considerate," He retorted, polishing off his remaining spring roll.
He nodded somberly at the reminder that Zac was still in the hospital. "Yeah...can't expect them to come." He agreed. It was too bad, he missed hanging out with JJ and the Baxters, but he'd not been comfortable doing more than sending a mixed CD to the hospital. He'd never been as close with the Baxters as he was with JJ, and he wasn't really sure how to react to someone who had almost died. He didn't know what to say, so it was easier to just make a CD that reflected his thoughts and hope that conveyed everything that needed to be said.
"It's Frankmusik," He informed Evan when asked about the music currently playing. "Isn't it awesome?" He was relieved at the change of topic; music was easier to discuss than injured friends, made him much less miserable -- barring the times he argued with Mal over what constituted good taste, but it was actually questionable whether that really made him miserable.
He waved when Brittany flew in, grimacing and pointedly looking the other way when she kissed his best friend, but turning back to face the couple in order to answer her greeting. "Yeah! Guess it's lucky Silver is with us again, gives us twice the cheerleaders to freak out!" He grinned, snatching another spring roll off Evan's bountiful table.

OOC: FYI Cheryl (oh yeah, I’m down with the kids, I know the slang, I know the acronyms, I’m hip, I’m in the know), they’re at Evan’s crib, not a Chinese place.
BIC:
“Frankmusik, huh? Cool name. And yeah, it’s pretty awesome. Have to say, you rarely get it wrong, DJ Fluff.” Evan laughed, holding out his hand for an enthusiastic fist bump. “Can ya put some of this on a cd for me? And maybe I should stop being lazy and dig around for my ipod. Would be cool to listen to some of this at work. But, on the other hand, have to look for the ipod, which in my room could be lost forever, then put the music on it. So much time and effort on non-fun stuff.” he lamented.
Just as he shut of the mp3 player, pulling out the earphones, he felt a very familiar set of lips press an admittedly tame kiss to his cheek. He knew the reasoning for that, and despite, or in spite of, that reasoning he turned, attempting to kiss Brittany. She was too quick for him though, and he pouted playfully at his girlfriend. “What, no make out session in front of Patch? No fair!” he teased.
“Well, we should probably wait for Mal to come. But...I’ve never been that patient.” Evan laughed. “We can fill her in when she gets here. Alright, let the planning be...nope, not yet, something I had to tell you all.” he struggled to remember, scratching at his chin, coming up blank. “What was it, gonna annoy me.” he mumbled, reaching over for another spring roll. Halfway through eating it, it hit him, and he almost choked in a struggle to swallow it. “That’s it! This weekend, a heap of everyone, really, are going to get together. We’re going to meet at the bowling alley, then grab some food, glorious food, and head to the movies maybe. So, you’re both welcome to come if you can make it.” Halfway through, he realised that bowling might not be a good idea for Brit, bad memories or something, he wasn’t sure, but then again there was no understanding girls. So as he spoke, he reached out a hand under the dining room table, squeezing hers gently.
“Okay, enough about that, we’ve got important business to discuss. And Patch is right, twice the cheerleaders is twice the amount of people to laugh at.” Evan grinned. “Managed to track down what we need. And a van too, to drive all the animals to the school in!” he enthused. “Just don’t ask me how I did it, I could tell ya, then I would have to kill you. But I can get us three chickens, a rooster, two pigs and a goat. We just have to round them up afterwards, I have to bring them back.” he explained. “I was thinking we could do it this week, during their practice? I could skip out of school early, to get the animals, and we could set up while the locker room is clear. Yes, I’ve been thinking. Don’t have a heart attack.” he grinned.

OOC: OOOPS!!! Thanks for letting me know!
Brittany laughed when Evan tried to kiss her more and mentioned making out in front of Patch. "Yeah right, Patch wouldn't go too ballistic...right?" she laughed, "He'd probably go running for the hills and never come back." She knew very well how Patch was. She didn't get it at all, but she accepted it and went along with it. After all, Brittany liked Patch. She knew Patch was the kind of guy who would always thing of her as Evan's girlfriend or J.J.'s friend, rather than say his own friend, but she didn't really care. As long as he didn't make a big deal out of it, she didn't see any reason to either.
She grabbed another spring roll devouring it as Evan went on about filling in Mal later and then going on about his plans. "Who's all going?" Brit asked, not that it really mattered. She knew some of Evan's friends better than others but she was cool with them all. "I'm in," she said. "I can probably get us some free bowling games anyway or at least free shoe rental...don't think they'll give us everything free but depending on who is working I can probably squeeze some sort of discount out of them." Brittany knew she could always get a discount for herself, but getting one for everyone was what she wanted. Going to the bowling ally would be a little weird, since she usually only went when she was working or on Sunday nights when the band played there but she figured it wouldn't be so bad.
Brittany laughed as they talked about tracking down the animals. "You might have to tell me where you were able to get them though," she teased, "especially if I provide the van..." She smirked. "It's not definite...I think it would be normally but...well its Ian and Zac's van but I'm sure they'll let us use it--its the van we normally use for our instruments and stuff," she said. They'd pulled out all the seats in the back to make room for transporting their instruments and sound equipment, but that stuff was stored in their garage usually anyway so the van would be empty. "But I'm pretty sure it will be okay...I know Ian was saying he was bummed he couldn't really help out with it all, so he should let us use the van if I ask. We'll just have to clean it up afterward since well, we do use it for band stuff," she explained.

Patch grinned, as always pleased that Evan agreed about his current musical obsessions. "Sure, I'll whip up a CD when I get home," He promised, but his pleasure evaporated at the mention of the most horrible invention in all of music history -- the ipod. "I may rethink sharing with you if you're going to condone a system that chains you to randomly changing policies and pretends to let you purchase when all you're actually doing is renting." He grumbled. His mood was further soured by the attempts at physical affection in his presence. "You know, if you want to plan this some other time..." He could leave, they could have the whole damn house to themselves. See if he cared. Okay, so maybe he did care. He would rather pretend that they were not making out and whatever else it was they were doing, but the couple was making his denial incredibly difficult.
He quickly recovered his equilibrium, however, at the mention of bowling and food. "Awesome!" He enthused, "I'll be there for sure! Any crazy antics, or just normal type bowling?" If Evan was involved then it wasn't very likely to be normal at all; that was the fun of hanging out with the younger boy. "Kian and Mike gonna be there?"
He glanced over at Brittany when she offered the use of the band's van. "Dude, we'll take goooood care of it." He promised, "As long as I don't gotta drive." He still didn't have his license, for one thing, and he was a pretty horrible driver, for another. His parents refused to let him anywhere near any steering wheels, not since he'd wrecked his dad's car that one time they were trying to teach him. "Yeah, it's too bad the Baxters can't come," He sympathized, "We'll just have to take real good footage, so it'll almost be like being there when we show them."

“Well, haven’t got a chance to tell ‘em yet, but I will when I can, or I’m sure they’ll hear about it from someone else, we’re trying to get as many of us together as possible, thought it’ll be fun.” he grinned, keen on the idea of cramming the bowling alley with as many kids as it could fit. “Dare and Taki, the new guy, we thought it up at lunch. Dare’s got a cast, so we’ve gotta help him bowl.” Patch’s question on the type of bowling involved earned a dumbfounded look off Evan. “Uh, you forgotten who you’re talking to here?” he asked, before breaking out into laughter. “You can’t expect me to be even remotely close to the fun of bowling balls and bowling pins and act normal. I’m not superhuman, you know. I wanna do something with Dare’s crutches. He’ll let me for sure. It’ll be sweet! Plus, my girl’s got connections and all to free stuff. Gonna be a mad day. Invite Aly to, if you want, she could use the cheer up.” he offered Brit with a slight smirk. “Tell her that Patch and I are gonna be there, she’ll come for sure. She likes us.”
“That’ll be a lot easier, will work for sure. And I can help convince Ian, I’m very persuasive. One look into my pretty eyes and people turn to mush.” Everything was falling into place, it was going to be one of his best pranks yet! Plus things were a lot more fun when you enlisted friends, it gave you someone to laugh with, and let you pull off much bigger pranks than one person alone could do. It made him start to wonder what their next prank could be.
“I don’t mind driving, gotta pick the animals up anyway. So, that settles it, Brit sorts out the van, I drive, and Patch can clean.” he laughed, preparing to move in case his friend suddenly got the urge to throw food at him. “Mal will get good footage for sure, she got some mad ones at Jasper’s party. Oh, did I tell you both yet, he’s sharing my locker at school. It’s so hard, trying not to laugh when I see him.” he admitted with a grin. “Anyone know when the next cheerleader practice is gonna be?”

"Yeah...I'm sure she'll be thrilled to hear you two will be there," Brit teased when Evan mentioned about inviting Aly. Things between Brit and Aly hadn't been what they used to be. They were certainly being nicer to one another but they were also sort of tip-toeing around each other trying to sort out what their new found relationship meant...and see who pulled the first prank. Aly was a cheerleader...perhaps this would start up the pranks again. Although could she even go to practice since she was injured? Perhaps she'd go still to watch or something...
"Yeah, sounds good to me," Brittany agreed with the arrangement. She hated cleaning but she knew she'd do it for the sake of the band if it was needed after the animals were in there. Although who knew when the band would even be able to practice again. Brittany shook the thought from her head, mostly because it brought her down, made her sad and she didn't want to think about it right now. In stead she decided to concentrate on the prank and just how sweet it would be.
"You are...seriously?" Brit laughed when Evan mentioned he was sharing with that Jasper guy. "He seemed pretty pissed about the whole cake thing--you think he knows it was you?" she asked. "He's pretty good friends with Aly...guess he's from New York or something and Aly lived there for awhile, you know," she pointed out. She wasn't really sharing with anyone interesting, or who hated her, but then again that was probably a good thing.
"When practice is...well, Aly is on the team. I can sneak a look at her planner and check," Brittany said. "I'll text you all and let you know when it's going to be. She grinned. "This is going to be pretty sweet."
