Kian grinned and pointed to his top bookshelf where GI Joe was sitting wearing a lace stole that came from one of Maeve or Meghan’s Barbie Collection. He had his hand raised as if he was greeting someone across a disco floor, his hat tipped jauntily to one side.
“Joe’s troop tended to do more musical reviews than missions,” he confessed with a blush. “When Patch would come over it was hard to revert to war, but he became very good at hiding in the closet.”
He blushed deeper when Connor asked if he should wait in the bedroom. Personally Kian would have been happy to have the other boy come join him, but it seemed rather soon in the relationship for that. “Umm… I suppose that would be best. There is a tv and stereo in that cabinet. But I really won’t take very long at all. You can wait downstairs if you’re worried about being in my room… no one should show up for at least 30 minutes though,” he said, appearing somewhat flustered.
Kian waved slightly and disappeared through a door down the hall which he left open slightly in case Connor needed anything. He stripped quickly, tossing his dance stuff in the hamper. The shower was turned on and he was in it almost as if he was racing. Without thinking about it, he started singing as he always did, this time it was ‘Tonight’ from West Side Story. It fit his tenor well and he was done washing his hair by the time he ran out of lyrics.

When Connor had his GI Joe, he had played out the obligatory war scenarios, though they did happen to end in mutual surrender more often than not. So to see a GI Joe on display, in such a pretty get-up, made him laugh. “Ah yes, I don’t blame Joe. Surely such a pretty man would have been a target for evil soldiers had he been found. It’s a good thing he could hide well.”
He shook his head just a little when Kian offered for him to wait downstairs. He wouldn’t be waiting long anyway, and Connor liked looking around his room, not that he was about to go all creepy and start looking through drawers or anything. So he just grinned at the cute, red-cheeked other boy, stretching his legs out a little as a sign he was more than happy to wait.
And then the other Irishman started singing, a song from a musical. Connor used to playfully tease people like Kian, those with so many talents, like singing, dancing, acting, and who happened to be utterly gorgeous on top. It was just hard to resist, innocent fun after all. They really should share the talent around after all. But seeing how the talented, gorgeous boy in question was a talented, gorgeous boy interested in him, he would be more than happy to let it slide.
He waited until he finished the song, enjoying every moment of it, before Connor burst out into an enthusiastic round of applause. “That was brilliant Kian!” he yelled out, grinning, reminding himself to keep hidden his lack of singing talent.

As Kian turned off the water, he bent over to shake his hair free of excess water. He was just straightening up when he heard shouting and applause. This caused more blushing and a desire to run in the other room and hug Connor tightly. He loved applause. That was one of the things he loved about acting on stage. He secured a towel around his waist and grabbed his things to bring them with him.
Grinning as he entered the bedroom he gave Connor a bow. "Thank you, thank you," he said, hamming it up. "For my next act, I will be attempting to get dressed showing as little skin as possible. This requires real skills so I do not suggest you try this at home."
Kian wasn't particularly shy, but he thought since they hadn't even had one date he should try to refrain from showing off his bits and pieces. A guy had to have some standards after all. First underwear was slipped on under the towel and then the shirt. The jeans came last and these were quicker since it was as important that the towel didn't fall off now. When he was done he whipped the towel off and bowed to Connor again, grinning with amusement.
"Well that's the last of my dumb pet tricks for tonight unless you bribe me later," he teased, going to sit on the bed next to Connor. He shook his head again and showered the other boy with droplets from his short curls.

Connor’s eyes almost popped out of his head when Kian walked into the bedroom, with nothing but a towel on. It wasn’t as though the other boy had anything he hadn’t seen before, and he had been to the beach and public pools before, not to mention Gould’s locker room after track and field, so he was no stranger to shirtless or even completely naked guys. But those instances didn’t get any reaction from him, he wasn’t a perve after all, and just because he was gay didn’t mean he looked at guys, or was attracted to them every chance he got.
But, he had never been around a half naked guy who he actually was interested in, and found cute. So this was a new, not to mention slightly uncomfortable, situation, as Connor found himself trying to control his wayward teenager hormones while unable to look away. He wondered if every guy found it this hard.
It was a relief when Kian managed to get dressed without letting the towel slip, for Connor wasn’t sure how to hide his...appreciation if that was the case. But he dressed, pulled the towel away and Connor greeted this with another round of applause. “Well, I’ll just have to find something to bribe you with then later.” he grinned.
Laughing when Kian scattered water over him, Connor pushed him away very lightly before he sat down on the bed. The Irishman almost didn’t want to go out now, but seeing all the effort Kian had went to, plus not to mention not knowing how his family would take it if they stayed, Connor decided it might be a good idea. “So, are you ready to go? Thought we could maybe get something to eat, and decided want to do from there.” he suggested, letting his fingertips brush the hand beside his.

Fully dressed except for his shoes, Kian could find no good reason to say no except that he was enjoying being alone with Connor and dancing on that edge of teasing and teasing himself. He also didn’t think Connor was ready for his family yet. They would be bound to accept him with a great deal of embarrassing enthusiasm. His mother had a tendency to hug everyone she came near and the twins would think he was cute and ask him embarrassing questions like why would he want a dork like Kian anyway. “Yeah we should go or Mom will invite you to stay for dinner and a game of Pictionary or something,” he shuddered at the thought of having their date turn into game night. He grabbed his black leather high tops and pulled them on. “Ready!” He grabbed Connor’s hand and led him downstairs and out to his jeep.
Opening the door for Connor, Kian gave him a little bow and a grin, “Unless you want to drive, since I don’t know where we are going?” he asked, perfectly willing to let his date drive his precious jeep. He had never let anyone else drive it, but he didn’t even question his willingness to give his keys over to the other Irishman. The sun was warm as it beat down on his damp head.

Connor enjoyed a game of Pictionary as much as the next musical loving, gay Irish man, but to play Pictionary with the family of a guy he hadn’t actually gone on one date with yet, hadn’t really done anything with yet, besides perve on discretely, seemed a bit daunting. So there were no protests coming from him when Kian took his hand and led him outside before any of his family arrived. Besides, Connor realised, his date’s family might ask about their relationship with one another, and since he didn’t know, first date after all, it was a good idea to avoid such questions. By avoid, of course, run away screaming.
He grinned appreciatively as the Jeep’s passenger door was opened for him, and looked at the keys that were held out to him instead. Then he looked at the undeniably attractive holder of said keys. Connor wasn’t normally shy, the unfamiliar situation, dating, made him a little nervous, but he normally did and said what he wanted. He was taught it was always better to be honest, after all. And so looking at Kian, hair still wet, grin on his face, kicked him into action and before Connor could help himself, he planted a very enthusiastic, if brief, kiss on the other boy’s lips. And now grinning himself, as Kian stood there stunned, he grabbed the keys and jumped behind the wheel, still tossing up what restaurant to go to. “Ready?”
