It was hard for Connor not to just stare at Kian at the tone of his voice, what the other said, his pale skin getting considerably blushed. He wasn’t shy, and rarely felt awkward around others, not confident, at a loss for words. But, the thing with not dating often meant that he really didn’t have much of a clue about dating, and the whole gamut of things related to dating. He could pretend, of course, but the other guy was clearly more experienced than him. So it made him a little unsure of how to act himself. Besides grin like an idiot. Maybe dreaming about mimes wasn’t all that bad. “Well, now, I’m looking forward to finding out how you plan to do that.”
“No, it’s okay. It’s really big of you, how you’re coping with it all, I’m sure your father would be proud.” And Connor was impressed himself, if something like that happened to his father, he couldn’t see himself being so calm about him, even seven months on. Kian called himself bitter, but, Connor thought he wasn’t bitter enough. He would have completely understood if the other male was planning some sort of revenge campaign against the drunk driver.
“Personal photographer? So basically just travel the world, take some photos and bum around? Well, you better make it now. You better get mega famous by graduation day.” Connor laughed. “I’m serious Kian, you’ve got me sold on this idea now, you have to deliver.” He tried very hard not to think about spending all that time with him, alone, which would be a bit stalkerish and creepy seeing how they just met. Connor really had to get out more. At least for his sanity, if nothing else.
He glanced at his watch, before popping the last of his muffin, and grabbing the bag containing Julia’s. Guess we better head off for school, or we’ll be late. Do you need a lift there? My car’s just outside.” he offered, very hopeful.
