Maggy internally groaned; another football player! What had happened to the football players of California that they had begun gravitating towards her, of all people? She suspected witchcraft, or a cosmic joke, or something of that sort, as there could be no natural explanation for two seperate football players asking her to take rides with them. She had avoided associating with football players for almost four years of high school!
Unfortunately she had already agreed to go with him, and she could think of no graceful way to back out of that now. Then again, she had resorted to unabashed fleeing before now...
At least his music selection managed to be decent, more than decent, even. Finally! Someone who didn't care for light, fluffy music. Of course, she refrained from expressing this with anything remotely resembling enthusiasm, instead offering a mild, "Any of those are good with me." Before sliding into the passenger's seat.
There was silence for a moment, and she wondered if perhaps she should speak. Actually, she hoped he would just turn on the music, so that she could lose herself in that and not have to talk, but he didn't seem inclined to go that route just yet. "Umm. So you play football. I'm in the band." She doubted that would impress him much, but then again if he wasn't blind he could probably tell she wasn't exactly cool. "Silver has a pretty good team." At least, they managed to always beat Gould, a fact that chafed most of the Gould students, or at least the few who really cared about the rivalry, which come to think of it was hardly anyone she knew. Maybe Tyler, but as he was on the football team he didn't count.
She settled back into the seat, staring out the window, "So what books did you buy?" She wondered what sort of books a football player read.
