"Walking is fine with me," Wes replied. He used to walk a lot back in British Columbia and he was finding he was doing far less of that here in LA. Now he had a puppy hopefully that would change but walking around town streets wasn't exactly what he liked. Still, he had a car and so could go a bit further afield. Maybe up the coastline a distance? He'd heard that the countryside was breath-taking up that way. The sea was great... but he seriously missed the Canadian mountains.
"I think we pass a Starbucks on the way to the park. At least I'm pretty sure I spotted one on my way here...."
Sure enough, the ubiquitous green and white logo seen all over every town and city in 99% of the towns and cities in the world appeared ahead. Always a corner shop as well. That never failed to strike Wesley as weird. Maybe it was part of their business ethos? Corner shops mandatory.
"What will you have?" Wes asked. "My shout." He tucked Canuck a little more securely under his left arm as he rummaged in his pocket.
Two girls walked by at that moment and he easily heard their 'oohs' and 'aahs' as they took stock of the two endearing puppies. They moved on, casting glances back as they went.
Wes peered down at Canuck. "I reckon you're going to be something of a babe magnet, pal!" he commented. "Same goes for yours," he added to Theo. "Maybe you can borrow it from time to time, eh?" he suggested with a grin and a wink.
