Elena had run down to the taco bell and got one their five dollar boxes and a large drink and came back to the school. She found a bench and sat down and began to eat. She was the first to say she loved fast food like Taco Bell, she would always stop there with her coworkers after a ghost hunt or if she stayed late at work. She was grateful she did not gain weight since she rarely worked out, but she was always moving alot working or just gong places so that was proably why she was still slim. She saw a few people she knew and waved at them as they headed out to get there lunch. She was eating when someone came up and sat next to her. "Hey" she turned and smiled at them. She pushed a strand of her hair off her face.
"Couldn't stay inside either huh?It is to much of a nice day to be cooped up in there" she said gesturing toward the school building. A year ago she would of been to shy to even say hi to the person next to her and now she is actually talking to them. She knew her uncle was espically about the changes in her. And yes he was even more cool with her fasination with all things of the paranormal state, more soon then worried like he was before.

He had practically ran out of the school building, he needed to get away from the hustle and bustle so he could have a lunch with a lot less noise than the cafeteria usually offeed. He entered the quad with his bag containing a lunch box with sandwiches, and some fruit that his father had insiste that he add. Apparently his mother had been telling his father what was good and not good to give him for lunch every day. He had still managed to smuggle a bag of crisps an a cake into it wen his father hadn't been looking. Possibly he had pretended not to look while Mikasi had smuggled the food out into his box.
He found a bench with just one other sitting at it and decided to sit down, they could share the bench and it was after all it was just one person. He could handle just one person, just one person though no over load today. He looked up sharply when the girl spoke to him cricking his neck in the process making him groan.
"I didn't mean to do that." Mikasi smiled at her. "Yes I would say so, I need an hour away from the mayhem that is this school. Nobody said that this would be that difficult when I moved here, to many people. I never thought I would say that I miss the comforts of the reservation." Mikasi said smiling. "What about you, a quiet moment or just to get away from the terrible stench that is todays special." Mikasi asked her.

Elena took a sip of her drink before answering. "I just had to enjoy the weather" she said honestly. "A nice day can not be passed up" she said with a smile. "Plus most the daylight I am in school" she said with a laugh. "Which I have my jobs during the evening and the night so I take in my sun when I can" she said honestly. "That does not mean I don't break out the bikini and not go to the beach because I do." She hoped she did not sound stupid but she was just very happy, her life was coming together again, and boy did it feel good. "Sorry about the babbling and not making any sense today is just a really good day for me" she said honestly. "I have not had many good days in the past few years" she told him and took a bite of her food.
"And with school food I always hit up fast food" she said with a laugh and a smile. "I think that is one rule never enforced, because more people get food off campus then on campus" she grinned. "I am a girl that loves her fast food so I do break that rule at least" she grinned. "Other then that I am pertty much a non rule breaker." She reached in her bag and got out a claw clip and lifted her dark hair up in a twist and put the clip in to keep her hair off her neck.
"Oh by the way I am Elena Hykes" she said with a smile. "Are you new, I don't remember you from last year" she said and glanced over at him. She had to admit he was cute, and she did not mind talking to a cute guy.

Mikasi smiled at her, "No its cool babbling is better than awkward silence." Mikasi said to her with a grin. "Though some times growing up I wish my grandfather would choose silence over some of the stories he had told me." Mikasi said with a wicked grin. "Talking is definitely not a bad thing." Mikasi said to her with a smile.
"Mikasi Meraz." he introduced himself. "Nice to meet you and I arrived here at the very end of the last school year, it hardly seemed worth it considering I went back home for the summer. I can blame that on my father though, he chose to leave at the end of the school year, my going with him just meant I didn't really have time to settle in before going home." Mikasi explained.
"A girl after my own heart, my mother heard that I've been eating more junk than she thinks that is normal for a teenager of my age." Mikasi told her. "So now my father is making me eat more rabbits food than should be legal. Divorcing my mom and still scared of her, I now know who ran that house hold without doubt." Mikasi said smiling. "He may have let me smuggle out crisps and a cake though, so you can say that I am living dangerously." he admitted.

"Well I am much more of a talker now then last year and the year before that" Elena said. "I lost my parents a few years ago so I clamed up and stuff and got all introverted. I had to heal" she said. "Of course I am not fully healed never will be I miss them like crazy" she said. She was sad when she thought of them but not like how she was before. Ghost hunting has really helped her actually be okay with it all, she knew there is a after life and knew her parents were in a better place.
"Ah so the end of last year I was still learning to come out of my shell so if I saw you it was like I registered if that makes sense. I was still not into getting to know a lot of people" she said and blushed. "I should warn you I am also known as a bit of a freak" she said to him. "Mikasi I am a ghost hunter and into all that kind of stuff. If you want to call it supernatrual or paranormal, I perfer the term paranormal, I don't see anything unatrual about ghost and the like" she said. "Sorry I get a bit passionate when it comes to it all, it is my passion" she told him with a small smile. "How do you like it all around now that you are settled?"
"You can never have to much junk food, and greasy food" she grinned. "I live on that stuff like crazy. Of course I do like my good stuff when I am in the mood. I follow my cravings" she said and laughed. She ate some more of her food. "For example one my most favorite places is Taco Bell" she said and took a sip of her drink through the straw. "Nothing wrong with living dangerously, I do everyday" she said and looked up at the sky. "I learned everyday is dangerous because everyday could be your day you meet your makers so I live everyday to the fullest."

He nodded and smiled sadly as she told him about his parents, "I'm not sure I would cope if I lost my parents, but then I have like six uncles and a couple of aunts so I would be taken in by one or the other. It must have been hard for you." he added with a shake of his head.
Mikasi laughed, "I'm a Native American who doesn't live on a reservation with my whole family, I think your find that some of my own people would call me a freak." Mikasi said to her wth a smile. "Not that I am, I up hold my peoples traditions. Hell I still have the dream catcher my dad made me when I was a baby hanging over my bed. My grandfather wanted to replace it with a newer one a few years back but I like the one I have." Mikasi said to her with a smile. "Freak is a relative term, to some pale skin some of the things my people do would make us look like freaks I bet." Mikasi continued.
"I have to sleep with my curtains drawn and ear plugs in, LA is to noisy and bright for that matter, but then if it weren't the city it would be my dads snoring." Mikasi said to her with a smile on his face. "Apart from that I've had a while and its growing on me now." he said to her. "Definitely growing on me a little each day." he added.
"To my mother fast food is on par with the devil, she would go all kung fu on my ass if she caught me eating to much of it. I have a like for southern fried chicken, you can't go wrong with some dixy chicken or peri peri chicken." he added. "Though not to much of the latter." he added.
"Their s definitely nothing wrong with livingife to the full, I don't want to grow old and regret that I didn't do enough with my life. I know that at some point I will have to go home and carry on the family legacy, so our ways don't die out. A lot of the people my age in my tribe and others tend to leave and do their own thing, but for me our traditions are kind of more important than getting laid or drunk after a night out on the town or something. I know that when I graduate I'll return home and go to community college or something." he added with a smile.

Elena nodded at what he said. "You are very lucky that you have such a big family" she told him. "And boy does it sound big" she said with a laugh. "I am here with my uncle and aunt who took me in, they were the only living relatives that could" she said. "I mean I know kids have lots there parents to accidents but it feels ten times worst for me because I was in the car with them and actually survied. For awhile I was having major survior guilt, and that is when I buried my life in the ghost hunting and all" she said. "And now it is just my passion I want to do for the rest of my life. I am one of the lucky ones that is not stressing about my future, I am in my dream job now, and know I want to keep on doing it" she said with a smile on her face.
"Well just think we can be two freaks sitting out here eating together" she said teasingly with a grin on her face. "I think it is very cool you keep up the traditions and all that" she said honestly and took a sip of her drink. "I mean I have read about some stuff, and know you guys also believe in spirits in all so that is another thing us freaks have in common" she giggled and crossed her legs at the ankles and used her toes to take off her heels, to get even more comfortable. "Dream catchers are beautiful and I love the idea behind them" she said honestly. "I would love to see native american cermony take place in front of me I think that would be one of the most amazing things to see ever, since not a lot of people see them" she glanced at him. "Have you particpated in any?"
"I am glad you are getting use to LA, it isn't home but that was also a city so I am use to the noise and all" she said and ate a bite of her food. "LA isn't all bad which I am glad that you are finding out. Have you been to the beach yet? If not we should go one weekend and enjoy a day on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, my parents would take me there when we visited my aunt and uncle when I was a kid. And then after that the amusent park on the boardwalk" she said. "I mean if you would want to" she added. "I don't have to work till sunday this week at the restaurant, and I am not needed at the ghost hunting society, it is my weekend off this week."
"Fried chicken is yummy, have you ever had it home made?I have it is fantastic" she said. "I make it myself, and yes I can cook to, so call me a odd ball of different things I can do" she laughed at herself. She felt at times like a jack of all trades, she will always have two jobs, since you can't make enough to live on ghost hunting unless you do a reality show like Zak,Nick,Aaron,Jason,Grant, and Ryan and the rest of PRS, which she was seriously thinking of joining one of those teams at graduation.
"When I graduate I know for sure ghost hunting all the way like I said. I am thinking of joining one of the reality show teams since I know them and work well with them. I would have Zak Bagans and the rest of GAC team, which their show is travel channel, and Grant and Jason have their show on what was si fi now known as syfc, or the PRS, Paranormal state show on A&E. But I could stick around here and keep waitressing by day and the ghost hunting by night. So it is all up in the air for me in that sense but I do have options so I am not stressing."

Mikasi shook his head, "We may believe in spirits but I'm not entirely sure that my believes are the same as yours. Spirit guides and using spirit for other stuff isn't really the same as you know seeing the spirits of those who have died. I prefer to believe that after you die if you have led a good life, your go to a better place." Mikasi said to her. "It help me sleep better at night, that and my dream catcher keeps the rest of the dreams away. I can't remember ever having a had dream. I'd like to think that the dream catcher is doing the job that it was built for." he explained with a shrug. "Did you go in search of ghosts because of what happened to your parents, or was it just something that you have always been interested in?" he asked.
He listened to her talking trying not to smile, he definitely knew that this girl was what most people would call a freak. Of course he was kind of an out cast as well, he found that he didn't fit in among the pale skins.
"I've never taken part in a serious ritual but I've seen a few performed, my grandfather was insistant I witness them so when the time was right I could take my fathers place and of course his as well. Its pretty cool, I've been learning some really cool stuff about my people's history. Even here I have to study about that stuff, so between the training and competitions that I do and my home work its hard to find time to do much of anything else." Mikasi explained to her.
"Or you could go to college and do a degree in something that would allow you to specialise in this sort of thing. If there is such a thing that is. Paraphsycology is it." he said to her.

Elena nodded at what he said, she knew all different cultures had different beliefs about spirts and stuff. "I know some in my field say if you are psyhic or have a extra sense to sense things you have a spirit guide. I mean I have a extra sense where I know I am not alone and my emotions are affected to happy or sad or whatever depending on who that spirit is" she said. When she was younger she never thought anything of this, they just thought she was a senative child with mood swings. But once she got into the ghost hunting buisness she found out what it really was. "My parents started it off yes, I mean before that I would watch the shows and be fasinated but never thought I would do it. With my parents after they died it was like a quest to find out about the afterlife, and I get comfort out of what I know. Which some people wouldn't but I am glad I do."
"You do sound like one busy boy" she smiled. "But that means you are very driven, some people have no drive and just do nothing. I am working alot myself but all of us get one weekend off in rotation and it is mine. I am glad it is not three weekends from now, we are staying a few days in Linda Vista Hosptial, it is in downtown LA, lets just say the bad part, and it is a abonded hosptial. I am ready for all the things they say happens, which no team has ever stayed a few days just a few hours at night, so it is a bit of nevousness to it." She looked over at him and smiled again. "It is how you learn not to make mistakes and what works best by history, people forget that is how we got here is because of history.Without history it would be like the stone ages" she laughes.
"That is true there is Paraphsycology and there is also supernatrual studies and the like. That get into myths and all. I would end up with all those classes cause they tie in together. I could do those on line because I will definatly continue both jobs after graduation, a girl has to eat" she grinned and ate some more of her food. "So it is like my whole world is just open to me and I am so ready to jump head first" she laughed. "I am not one that is scared of the future and the unknown since I face it everyday."

Mikasi laughed, "Yeah I guess I really am a busy person these days." Mikasi said with a shrug. "I have to keep in shape though, so I am competitive in major competitions." Mikasi explained. "If I get fat I won't be able to move as much as I can right now and that would be a crying shame." Mikasi told her smiling.
"To me hunting ghosts is weird but then half the things I'd do would probably cross you as strange. If you saw me before a match you would probably think some of my rituals were completely insane. Like tying my left shoe first, or slapping the door arch out of the changing room as I leave for a fight." Mikasi said to her with a smile. "I can be quite superstitious when I want to be, especially before I go and fight." he added. "I'm like super into martial arts, probably in the same way that you are into ghost hunting." he pointed out.
"Just don't go screwing about with stuff like those board things that people sometimes choose to use to contact spirits. Half the people who use them dont have enough respect or knowledg to use them safely." he said with a shake of the head. "Not telling you what to do of course, but its just someting that you should be careful about." he added.
