Aly had been dreaming about hearing something like this. Maybe this wa not exactly what she had wanted, but it was close enough. Jasper was helping her and confessing he didn't want to see her hurt. Well not in so many words, but thats how she took it. Yet Jasper had hurt her badly. He left a note. Nothing in person, just a note. That rejection had hit her hard. Cause she thought it was her. Aly had been rejected twice in her life and both by the same man, but here he was now trying to help.
Aly didn't say anything, "Jasper, I...I mean..." She was at a loss for words. Once again another non Aly trait. "I am not that girl okay. This is the real me. This is who I am. A girl who lets a guy walk all over her everytime. At least Chase cares about me." Aly said a bit of her oldself fighting back. But as Jasper spoke the look on her face told Jasper everything he probably needed to know.
"You can't keep me safe." She whispered."But you can try." She said as she followed Jasper out to his car. Maybe this would work, maybe Jasper could help her. He was the only person Chase was scared of. He could protect her. Everything could work out, Aly could be free of the abuse. If only it were that easy.
However, Chase was smarter then he seemed cause he caught up to the duo. "The old Limo out back trick, really." Chase said pulling on Aly's arm roughly, "Let her go Hastings. She is mine." Chase said angirly. He looked at Aly, "We will talk later." He told her.
"You have no place in her life Hastings. None." Chases grip on Aly tightened. "Right Aly."

This was a cry for help. It had to be. This wasn't Aly. This was a pathetic little girl talking. And Jasper knew Alyson Durrand. She was no pathetic little girl. She was one of the strongest people that Jasper knew and that's part of the reason he cared about her so much. She was like no other girl he'd ever met. He knew it had been a mistake sleeping with her. He wanted to be with her, he did. He was just afraid of the commitment and relationship part that came next. Normally, he didn't worry about those things but with Aly he did because Aly was different.
"I will," he said firmly, when she said he could try to keep her safe. He knew he'd do more than try but it was too late. Chase was there, gripping Aly, not letting her go.
"Let go of her," Jasper said. "Aly can make he own decisions." But Chase wasn't about to let that happen. With his grip still tight on Aly he simply turned and walked away and back inside taking Aly with him. There was nothing that Jasper could do without physically starting a fight. And as much as Jasper wanted to help Aly, he was above public violence. Okay, he wasn't, but he'd hold off now. He'd help her. He would if it was the last thing he did.
Feeling sick to his stomach, he canceled his lunch and went home to think of what else he could possibly do. Obviously today hadn't been planned, but the next time would be and Chase Andrews would not get the best of him.
Wrapped for Jasper
