Addison should have gotten up to take her morning run but instead took advantage of the weekend and slept in. The further the sun came up though the brighter it got in her room and the harder it became for her to sleep. Before too long she had just given up on that thought and rolled herself out of the bed pulling her hair back up into a messy bun and throwing a sweatshirt on over her tank and pants she had worn to bed.
There was orange juice and breakfast waiting for her on the table to be reheated and a note from her parents who had apparently taken the day to go see the sights. How kind it was of them to not invite her she thought throwing it into the trash can and sitting at the table after warming her food. It would have been nice to see some sights but she decided the un nice part would have been to go with her parents so she was no longer offended they didn't invite her. The breakfast was a welcome surprise though and as she finished it off she felt a little more awake as she headed for a warm shower.
The morning creeped by slowly as she spent it alone reading for one of her school assignments and putting the finishing touches on her bedroom. There were still a few boxes she was sifting through over time from the move and now she was almost complete. The few things left could wait because she needed to find some more shelving and another decorative touch to finish it all off. Getting tired of the quiet she decided to head out on her own. Maybe she would find a bite to eat and go to the boardwalk or something.
The city was bustling with excitement she could only suppose was from prom. She wasn't old enough to go but it wasn't like she really knew anyone to go with even if she was. There were girls getting their hair done and running through the stores for last minute touches to make sure they looked every bit of stunning for their dates. It was kinda of exciting she had to admit and when it was her turn she supposed she might be just as bad. But she let it go from her mind as she pulled into a parking spot just up the street from the boardwalk. She wanted carnival food, the kind that is really bad for you, and this was of course the best place to get it. Putting her car in park she took some money from her console and shoved it and her license into the pocket of her jean shorts and ambled quickly out of the car and down the beach to a corn dog stand waiting patiently as the person in front of her ordered.
