(OOC LOL! Nicely done too ;P)
"You know her?" Christophe smiled brightly. "Ella is fantastic, yes? I am very fond of her as well. Not in a romantic way, of course." Impossible seeing as though she liked girls more than she did boys. A shame as they got on so well together. Maybe, though, that was *why* they got on so well? No pressures involved. No expectations. Just pure and unadulterated friends.
"Cute?" He threw Sawyer a grin. "I doubt that but its good to have a friend to go with. The alternatives I faced were terrible. Either not go or... even worse!... go alone." He shook his head. "You could say that Ella saved me from either of those fates for sure!"
"Mais non! You are grounded? But you are also here..." He narrowed his eyes. "You are being disobedient, I am starting to think." Christophe laughed at the face she pulled in reply. "But as you will already be in trouble with your parents you might as well make it worth while. I passed a stand back down the beach that was selling doughnuts... Would you like one? My way of thanking you for casting your spell."

[OOC: Why thank you ] Sawyer nodded enthusiastically when he asked if she knew Ella. Who didn't? The cheerleader was friends with practically the whole of Gould! And who could forget the grin she gave Sawyer and Roxy when they pulled that epic prank in the locker room? It was classic and Ella was awesome in Sawyer's books. "She's super awesome." Her smile dropped though when Christophe mentioned that he didn't like her in that way. "Now why not? She's a perfect candidate for you! She's smart, she's pretty and she knows a good prank when she sees it!" Sawyer enthused. It was quite apparent how much she liked the Gould senior cheerleader. "Aww ducks." She mumbled as Christophe fanned out his options to her. "So, how come you don't like her that way?" she quizzed him, confused at why he wouldn't want to officially go to prom with the fellow senior if he had painted her in such a positive light. The sheepish grin returned in full force when he 'caught' her. "Guilty as charged. But the thing is, being grounded just doesn't go well with my plans on having fun my freshman year so I figured, why bother? Summer's approaching anyway so I should enjoy myself before I get tortured right?" She reasoned and it sounded perfectly reasonable in her head of course. "Doughnuts!" She perked up, jumping up in excitement at the mention of possibly the world's awesomest snack. "One? I don't just eat one doughnut. That's insane! Why do you think they always give you the option for boxes of twelve?" She laughed in disbelief at Christophe. "One doughnut. That's insane!"

How could Christophe possibly tell Sawyer the reason why he and Ella would never be a couple? He could picture it...
'She likes girls'... 'Yeah I know she does! She's real friendly!'... 'No, I mean *really* likes girls'... 'As in...?'... 'As in... yep'....
Oh yeah... that would be something, would't it? And right after he'd revived Sawyer he'd have to face crucifiction at Ella's hands. SOOooo wasn't going to happen.
"We just get on... like friends do," he replied instead. Lame. No, beyond lame. Beyond lamer than lame! Distraction... On to the doughnuts!
He laughed at her immediate reaction. It seemed his tactics had worked... thank god. "In that case I shall buy you twelve," he said with a mock serious look on his face. "Come on, cheri... let's go buy the stall dry!"
The pair set off in high spirits, all talk of Ella - and why Christophe wasn't dating her - completely forgotten in the light of something far more interesting!
"The next time we meet up I will try and bring Renard with me," he told her as they waited for the dozen cakes to be boxed. "He is my dog. A husky puppy. You will love him!"

"You probably really like her a lot but you don't wanna complicate things." Sawyer nodded and when Christophe gave her a weird look she gave a stoic look and shrugged. "What? My sister leaves her Cosmopolitan magazines lying around. It really isn't my fault that I just happen to stumble across them!" She shrugged.
But more important things should be discussed. Glazed, jelly-filled, creamy things. She was practically salivating at the thought of having one fill her mouth with joy. At the mention of being given twelve of them, Sawyer squealed and gathered up her things, stuffing them all into her bag before looping her arms through Christophe's.
Sawyer perked up when Christophe mentioned he had a husky puppy. "Holy macaroni, you're an awesome dude. Anyone ever mention that to you Christophe Broussard?" Sawyer had to crane her neck slightly to look at Christophe who towered over her like the Chrysler building. An overestimation but not by much! "You're funny, you're super generous, you're going to the prom with none other than Ella D'Agustino and you have a puppy!" Sawyer took in a deep breath after her monologue. "I would definitely love Renard!"
They were approaching the doughnut shop and Sawyer was even more excitable than ever and that's saying a lot!

"Awesome dude?" He laughed. "I think I understand what that means, but no... I have never been called such before." He had yet to work out how religion and pasta came into it, though, but opted not to ask. It seemer... cooler to at least *seem* like he comprehended. He smiled down at her when she said other nice things about him. Sawyer was doing his sadly flagging self-esteem teh world of good! How could it not be either sad or flagging given the gut punches he'd taken lately?
The icing on his personal cake seemed to be Ella and Renard... Both of which he was enormously fond of! Maybe his life wasn't as bad as he thought? He had friends... Good friends... A fantastic home life... Renard... A job he loved... Well, two really... And now he had a girl who seemed to look up at him. Figuratively as well as literally!
"Bien then so you shall meet him, petite soeur," he declared and he waited for Sawyer to choose her selection of doughnuts. It was impossible not to laugh at her antics as she flitted from one type of doughnut to the next... and then back to the first.
Little sister... The name fitted her well. Very well indeed!

"Well you are and I have no problems repeating it to you over and over again. If you have email, online messengers, a cell phone or a pager I'll probably stalk you on all of them and tell how awesome you are," Sawyer beamed up at Christophe and squealed as she flitted from one glass casing to the other, not caring that she was probably bothering the other customers with her squealing.
And when she finally made her selections not one hour later after a heated discussion with herself, she grabbed Christophe's arms and brought him to the counter. Shamelessly, she held her hand out to the cashier for the bag of donuts before thanking Christophe again and again.
Christophe spoke too much of a language she didn't know so when it finally clicked in her head that he had called her...or presumably his dog petite soeur, she looked up at him with a frown. "What did you just call me?"
He repeated it and translated it for her. "Oh..." she elongated the one syllable and grinned widely. "Yes! I finally have a brother!!" She shamelessly grabbed Christophe around his waist and squeezed lightly. "I've always wanted to know what it feels like to have a big brother and now I have one!"
They walked out of the doughnut shop to find a place they could eat the delicious treats and once they spotted a place, Sawyer ran to it and opened the box and took a long whiff. "Oh yum." She licked her lips and took one of the jelly filled doughnuts and took a huge bite. "YUM!" She exclaimed, ignoring the jelly that had made its way down to her chin.

While he waited for Sawyer to choose her doughnut fillings and toppings Christophe had turned his back to the counter and leaned against it, boots loosely crossed at his ankles and arms equally loosely folded. He felt as if he’d known her for ages despite only having met Sawyer within the past hour. It was strange how that sometimes happened and he felt utterly and totally at ease. Relaxed... Calm.
He translated what he’d called her with a grin, pleased to see her reaction. She looked over the moon at the term. “Yup you have one now but that doesn’t mean I’m going to spoil you... “ He was teasing her, of course. Christophe paused. “Want some soda to go with those doughnuts?”
So much for not spoiling her!
He carried the soda can and Sawyer clutched the box of doughnuts to her chest. Woe betide anyone who tried to take them from her! They soon found a bench beneath a street lamp and facing the beach. They sat down and Christophe set the can down between them.
“Oh yum.”
The French boy laughed as he watched Sawyer get stuck in and he laughed even more when jam oozed out and down her chin. She was a breath of fresh air in a world that had so recently felt devoid of oxygen. “Are you really going to eat all twelve?” he asked in amazement.

She accepted the offer for soda and as they situated themselves on the bench, Sawyer grinned at Christophe when he asked her the silly but very askable question. If he hadn't asked, Sawyer would have surely finished it all. After much deliberation, Sawyer pushed the box over quite hesitantly to Christophe. "You can take some if you want. I mean you did pay for 'em." She grinned.
Someone else who knew Sawyer would have been silly surprised to see her sharing doughnuts with an older guy but for Sawyer, this older guy was her 'big brother', she was willing to share anything with him. There was no doubt in her mind that their friendship meant more to her than doughnuts. "I like doughnuts." She shrugged and finished off the rest of the doughnut still in her hand. She licked her fingers and looked at Christophe when he mentioned the jam.
Not one to be easily embarrassed, she just chuckled and tried her best to lick it clean. Not seeming to have gotten it, she wiped her whole chin with the back of her hand and looked around for a piece of tissue where she could wipe her hand. But none could be found so she just scraped the jam off her hand with her mouth. "You should really try some. They're delicious." Sawyer grinned wider now.

Christophe took one of the less icing-coated doughnuts and opted for the one without the additional sprinkles. Sawyer nodded in approval at his selection and he happily set into it. They were actually a lot nicer than they either looked or he'd expected!
By the time he'd finished his one the remaining eleven had vanished. "Just don't tell me you feel sick," he stated, watching as she rinsed her feast down with the rest of her soda. "How come you are so thin?" With an appetite like that she should be the complete opposite but then again, already Christophe could tell Sawyer would quickly burn off any calories with what looked to be her normal hyper-energetic state.
"So now that I've adopted you..."
"I adopted you back!" she pointed out.
He laughed. "Now that we've adopted each other do I get to walk you home or are you heading off somewhere else?" Already he had that protective urge that came from being an older brother... albeit one of only an hour or so's duration!

Being questioned about being sick after eating left Sawyer laughing. "You should see me eat other kind of junk food. I don't get sick just by eating too much or nothing." She shrugged and finished off her soda. She wanted to get one last doughnut but found that they were fresh out. An apparent look of disappointment crossed her face but she was distracted by his question. "Uh...I run? If you haven't noticed I don't exactly like to sit still too much. It hurts my butt mostly." Sawyer licked her lips for any excess sugar. She burned fat by being Sawyer Lee James. Being Sawyer Lee James was tiring to which she was utterly grateful for. When he offered to send her home, Sawyer grinned and nodded enthusiastically. "Do walk me home. Nice night to go walking." She nodded. Just then she saw a Rottweiler and a Doberman walking side by side and her eyes widened. "You wait here!" She exclaimed and rushed to the owner of the dog and asked if she could pet them. But even before the owner said anything, surprised at the sudden appearance of the redheaded crazed looking freshman, the dogs barked loudly and started sniffing and licking her happily. "What are their names?" She asked, looking up at the owner while laughing at the dogs' antics. "Rottweiler's Hurdle and the Doberman's Dobby." The owner grinned sheepishly. "Like Harry Potter's elf! They're so cute!" Sawyer squealed, scratching the two dogs behind their ears. They seemed so docile under her scratches. "They're usually quite guarded around other people." Sawyer laughed and looked up at the owner. "I probably smell like dog." She explained with a shrug, once again reverting her attentions to the dog, Christophe momentarily forgotten. [OOC: Yes, I'm prolonging the end >.< This is how much I wuff threading with you Fryn dearest! ]
