His afternoon had been beyond dull. A total anti-climax following the fun he’d had at the reservation. Ok, so ‘fun’ was something of a general term as he was still beyond pissed as his treatment courtesy of Sarissa Zouvelekis. Still, what had he expected? That she’d welcome him with open arms? Wanted him there for reasons totally at odds with her real ones? That she’d tell him how she felt about him? Hell, that last one he knew now without the shadow of a doubt. He was a tool... and in more ways than just the obvious one. She’d used him... and he’d let himself BE used.
Maybe this evening would be better... Maybe he’d even run into Lia... After all, he hadn’t seen her since their argument. Maybe she’d come tor realise how wrong (aka stupid) she’d been? Maybe... but he wasn’t about to hold onto his breath. Suffocation would surely follow!
So what should he do with his evening? Tomorrow he’d have to face Sarissa and Tyler at school... and that was doubly hard knowing how they had to have laughed at his stupidity. But tonight? No, tonight was his to do with as he pleased and it pleased him to head for the park, Renard in tow. Some friendships were constant and at least he knew where he stood with Renard.
He scowled down at the husky pup when Renard tangled the leash well and truly around Christophe’s feet.
“Et tu, Renard?” he murmured with a grin. Life could be a whole lot worse... right?

Vasilisa felt like sweating tonight, and that meant a good run was in order. She had a early dinner with her dad before getting ready for her run. She went to her room and got on her usual running outfit, then she grabbed her ipod the strap she put it on the headphones. She left her room and went down to the kitchen and grabbed a cold bottle of water before heading toward the front door. She passed her father's office and peeked in. He was there alone his buisness associates that were coming over was not there yet. She walked up to him and kissed him on the cheek. "I am going for a run daddy and am going to stop for coffee after I am done."
"Okay sweetie be careful, call if you need to be picked up." He worried about her knowing she was a bueatiful girl. That men might hurt if they see her out running alone. "Keep your cell on you at all times."
"I will and do daddy. I love you bye" she waved and left the office. She went and got in her car and headed over to the park and stretched after putting the ipod in its strap. And there was enough room for her cell and put the head phones in and the soundtrack to RENT began to run. She ran for about a hour before she had to rest, she was all shiny with sweat and she took off the headphones and stretched a quick cool down and took a sip of her water. She notice a guy with a dog going around his legs and she giggled. "Sorry" she said when he looked over. "Your dog is such a cutie" she walked over and bent down and peted the dog. "A very handsome boy I can tell" she said feeling the dogs smooth silky fur.

Christophe was struggling to untangle the leash and was ably hindered by an excited Husky pup who took it all to be a part of a brand new game. A game he liked! Renard grabbed the leash between his teeth and play growled, making it impossible for Christophe to unsnarl those last few elusive loops. He gave up and laughed at the dog who wagged his tail in a great sweeping arc.
Christophe straightened slightly when he heard a voice speaking from just behind him. He peered back and beneath his left arm. A girl (well, that had been obvious and hadn’t needed visual confirmation!) but she was also stunning!
He stood completely upright when she crouched down to fuss at Renard... who lapped up every gram of it. The French boy poked the Husky with a gentle tip of his boot. “Putain d'attention!” he hissed at the dog with a loving smile on his face. “He will take no end of that sort of treatment,” he added to the girl.
While Renard was distracted by the girl Christophe managed to slip his feet out of the leash’s coils and he was finally free. He dropped down into a crouch at the girl’s side and joined in fussing the Husky.
“He is Renard. It means ‘fox’ because he is most definitely a sly one. And I am Christophe. Christophe Broussard...” His first impression had been correct. She was very stunning indeed.

Vaislisa giggled again at what the guy said. He did not know she spoke french yet and could understand him. "Well he is a cutie no wonder he is the whore of attention. Don't you know girls love dogs" she smiled and her dark chocolate eyes danced and had a twinkle in them. "Of coure it helps when the owner is good looking as you" she told him honestly. She was not above flirting and this guy was very attractive. And she could tell by the way he looked her over that he liked what he saw. Of course she didn't know if he was in it to have sex with her or talk to her as a person. Sure they just met but a guy always knew right away if a girl was someone he wanted to get to talk to more or just get in bed, and to many have wanted to just get in her pants, espically sons of her fathers business parnters or for that matter the fathers to. "I can tell he is definatly a fox, and so is his owner" she gave a coy sweet smile. "Nice to meet you Christophe Broussard I am Vasilisa Remington."
She held out her hand for him to shake and thought he had gorgeous eyes. And she really really hoped he fell into the nice guy catagory. It is always nice when a nice guy paid some attention to you, and didn't just stare at your chest, but wanted to treat you like a person. "And nice to meet you Renard" she petted the dogs head.Où avez-vous vécu en France ?"It was easy to figure out where he came from by the accent and how well he spoke french, she only knew this cause her father had business associates there and she had to learn it to communitcate while on trips over the summer when they go. She wonder if she suprised him with know french, and she hoped she sounded good, or she would be humiliated to butcher it.

When the girl laughed at his rebuke to Renard Christophe felt his first pang of misgiving... And then she repeated it! And in English!
“You understood me?” he asked... and then it hit him full on. He slapped his forehead with his palm. “You understood me! Merde. I mean... I wouldn’t have said it if...” She laughed and he threw her a wry grin. It was true though. Renard WAS an attention seeking whore... Of the male variety, of course.
His eyes opened a little wider when she referred to him as attractive. Christophe had given up on viewing himself as anywhere close to appealing. First Lia who dumped him after 2 dates and then Sarissa and her games. But... He swallowed. To be called such by a girl who obviously could have her pick of any boy at school? No, that hadn’t been at all expected!
He grasped her hand and smiled, making a reasonable attempt at repeating her first name... even if his hefty accent did mutilate it slightly. “Vaseelia,” he said, extending the second syllable far more than it was designed for. A beautiful name... It suits you,” he said as he released her hand. If he held onto it for a few seconds longer than necessary then hopefully she would forgive him.
Renard, for his part, panted happily up at her, more than content to receive another head patting.
‘Sensible dog,’ Christophe thought to himself.
He was doubly taken aback when she posed her next question in his native language. “Je suis de Paris,” he replied, slipping all too easily - and quickly - into his language of preference. He knew, though, that it would be ill-mannered to continue on in French. “But more recently I lived in British Columbia. That’s in Canada,” he added, mentally kicking himself for that last part. Of course she knew damned well where British Columbia was!
Change the subject! Fast!
“Et tu? Tu parle le français très bien.” In his haste, though, he spoke in French again., causing him to berate himself in thought once again. He was proving himself to be a complete idiot!

"Yes I do understand you" Vasilisa said to him with a smile. "My father has business associates that live around France so I had to learn the language ever since I was little to get around. It was the only way I could go off on my own, and not be lost." She explained to him as she stood up and smiled at him. "I like it when you talked about him, because can you blame him for trying to get all the attention. Being cute as he is, it is not hard" she said smiling soflty down at the dog. She was such a dog person more then a cat person.
"You can call me Lissa it might be easier for you. Vasilisa is russian, it means royal" she told him. "Thank you" she blushed at what he said. She could tell he meant it, and she knew then that he was a nice guy. "It is nice to hear I am beautiful without the guy wanting to well get in the pants to say he got me" she told him. She was definatly honest and open. Sometimes it can be a fault but she was just that way always since she could remember. She was taught to be her own woman and to say what was on her mind. "So you have no idea how nice it is to her a guy say I am beautiful and really mean it" she told him and did not mind how her hand felt in his one bit.
"Paris est un bel endroit. J'aime la tour effil la nuit tout lite en haut" Lissa was having so much working on her french. She was very glad she had worked so hard to work on it and make it as perfect as she could get it. "I haven't been to Canada before" she told him. "But I do want to go one day" she told him honestly. "I like traveling and there are places I have been and places I want to still." She giggled at what he asked her. "Oh je ne suis pas de la France, je l'ai visité plusieurs fois, pour qu'où j'ai appris la langue si bien. Et le merci que j'ai travaillé durement pour recevoir à où je peux le dire si bien. This is fun throwing french in with english" she told him a smile on her face.

Christophe laughed when she mentioned guys trying to get in her pants. “You are safe but not because I find you unattractive. I just like to get to know a girl before... well... “ He ran a hand through his longer than average hair. “And my words were true. Only a blind man could fail to appreciate your beauty and even then he would be able to sense it.”
“Ah yes, the Eiffel Tower at night is a vision to behold although the lights can sometimes be extreme. The tourists love that though. I love the views over Paris from there at night but they are better from the Sacré Coeur. I am from the Montmartre area,” he explained, “... and so have a special love of that place.”
They fell into step together and continued around the park at a leisurely pace. “Canada is wild,” he told her. “The countryside, climate... and animals. We moved to a ski village called Whistler.” Christophe threw Lissa a wry smile. “Another tourist attraction but I spent most of my time out on the water. I think you would like British Columbia, though. Vancouver is an amazing city.
Christophe nodded slightly when she explained how she came to speak French so well. “Your hard work has definitely paid off,” he said by means of a compliment. “Take Renard here... I am at fault as I taught him only to really understand French but I think the sly creature knows more English than I realise. He just chooses to ignore any commands in that language. Don’t you, Renard?” The Husky pup barked up at him. “Impossible,” he murmured with affection.
“So Lissa... have you finished with your run? I would like to take you for a coffee or chocolat chaud... if you would like that...? I am interested to hear more about your time in France.”

"Canda sounds like my kind of place. Plenty of places to explore and do. I love the outdoors" Lissa said with a smile. "I enjoy hiking and skining, and I want to even try moutain climbing" she said with a smile. She knew that most people looked at her and thought she was a girly girl that did not like to do anything of that kind but she did. She was a person that loved to be active and doing something. "I be the skinng was amazing up in Canada" she said with a smile toward him as they walked together. "Well Christophe you are one of a kind male then. I am really glad I ran into you" she said happily with a sweet smile on her face.
"I have not really ventured into the Montmarte area. My father liked me close by and would have someone watch me and keep a eye on me" she said and rolled her eyes. "Being a only child has some downsides" she said with a laugh. "He just likes to cause a bit trouble no trouble in that right little beautiful man" she cooed to the pupppy. "I am sure when you get big you will be popular with all the female dogs around" she teased the puppy. "Be careful you might have all the female dogs at your house" she said teasingly to Christopher.
"Yeah my run is all done" Lissa told him. "And Coffee and chocolate sounds good to me. Don't you know girls run on chocolate, well at least I do" she said with a laugh and a smile. "I swear you had at me at chocolate" she smiled as they headed to the entrance of the park. "My time there was wonderful I haven't been back in a few years. But I want to go and just explore it all not the parts my father deemed appropriate only" she said honestly. For some reason she felt she can be truely honest with his guy. Which is rare for her to come across someone so quick that she can feel that way about of the male variety.

“Bien. We shall go and get that chocolate then,” Christophe stated with a bright smile. His mood had been low when he’d set out for his walk but now it was most definitely rising once again. That said, his track record with girls since arriving in the USA was pretty dire. Lia... Sarissa... Was he tempting fate to take another shot at him by asking Lissa to have a coffee with him? What was life if not full of risks and chances... and besides, faint hearts never won a fight of any shape, manner or form. No, some things in life were worth taking chances for... even if it meant yet another shattered illusion.
“Renard, ici,” he said and the puppy bounded back to stand at Christophe’s left boot. All the female dogs in the area? Renard should be so lucky!
They headed back through the park, the light level having dropped dramatically whilst they’d chatted. A distinct drop in ambient temperature had also settled across the park, causing Christophe to shiver slightly... He didn’t mind any depth of cold, though, usually passing the iciest of days out on Nanaimo Sound off Vancouver Island. Lissa, on the other hand, was dressed for running and had probably worked up quite a heat. They needed to get inside and have that hot drink - and the sooner the better. He would hate for her to develop a chill.
“I would love to show you around Paris,” he said, holding open the door of the café to let her step in before him. “The back streets and parts the tourists never get to view. Maybe one day, eh?” he added and he followed her inside.
They found a remote and secluded booth and quickly ordered their drinks... and a large slice of chocolate fudge cake to share. He’d promised her chocolate, after all!

"Maybe one day" Lissa smiled at him sweetly. She liked the attention from a guy, the kind of attention that did not make you feel like a piece of meat. "Hhhhmm does that look good" she said and licked her lips as she stared at the piece of chocolate cake. "I swear there is nothing on this earth that taste as good as chocolate does. It is impossible for anything to give you such a happy feeling after you eat" she said iwth a grin. She took a sip of her hot chocolate and picked up a fork and took a bite of the cake. "Okay that is the best thing I have ever tasted. I come here alot and it has not tasted this good ever. Of course it could be becasue I have such great compay with me" she said with a sweet smile toward him. She took another sip of her hot chocolate again. "Thanks for the drink and the cake" she said full of sincerity.
"How long have you lived in the states? What is your favorite thing you have seen or done in our fair country?" she asked him curiously. She wanted to know more about this cute sweet guy. The kind of guy she was finding herself very quickly attracted to. But she decided to keep her attraction in check and actually get to know him before having a big crush on him. And he seems like the kind of guy that would ask her out and pursue her, that is what she wants. She wants to be shown how much a guy like hers. "Have you traveled outside of California?" she asked him after she took a sip of her hot chocolate again.
