When Abby offered to protect his back with her lotion Felipe readily accepted. Why wouldn’t he? She was a very attractive girl, after all. He passed the bottle to her and turned slightly so she could apply the lotion. “You would prefer to travel alone?” he queried. “I can’t believe for one moment that a girl such as yourself would ever be alone!” he added with a smile... not that she could see it. “But to be selfish on occasion... Of course that is good. I do it far too often. Such as now,” he said, glancing back at Abby over his shoulder. “I mean, I have kept you all to myself this afternoon. I doubt I could be more selfish than that!”

He laughed when she called him a charmer, knowing they were both goofing around and harmlessly flirting. He grinned when she shoulder bumped him once more, getting the feeling he’d found a friend in Abby... Someone he could spend long summer days with and pass the time joking and laughing. Much like he could with LizBeth.

Had she enjoyed their evening last night? He couldn’t be sure as she’d said her goodbyes pretty quickly. Hopefully he was wrong in worrying and that she’d want to go out with him again. That said he knew she hadn’t viewed their date seriously. Maybe not as much as he had...

“Great!” Felipe replied with earnest feeling when Abby said she’d like to hang out over the summer. Ok, she’d said perhaps but that was good enough for him!

“I have to head home soon,” he replied. “Rufio... My dog... He will be howling for his walk before too long. “And you? Do you have to go home as well?”

Squirting a bit of lotion on her hand, Abby started applying it on Felipe's not so surprisingly taut back. She enjoyed running her hand over the smooth skin and once she was done, she was slightly hesitant to stop but she did after patting his shoulder to indicate she was done. "I don't know what makes you label me any different than any other girl but it's not that hard to imagine me alone. You found here by myself...correct?" Abby grinned before throwing the suntan lotion into her bag.

Once again, Abby laughed at his blatant flirting. Oh she was really glad she went out to the beach today. She had been feeling rather down in the dumps and here was a guy willingly lifting her spirits up with his seemingly genuine compliments. Which girl didn't like to be showered with attention and compliments every now and then?

With the mention of home, she took the opportunity to insert her own excuse. "Right." She grinned. "I actually do have to go home but not immediately. I could go for a bite to eat. You're under no obligation to join me of course." She shrugged as she gathered her things into her bag before standing up, slinging her bag over her shoulder and looking down at Felipe to see whether he was coming with her or not. "I've got to just send this to the rental shop." She said, pointing to the shop across the boulevard.

“Ah yes, you were alone at first but not for long, heh? And I have seen at least a dozen boys looking at you since we sat down. Each of those boys have sent looks of sheer hatred in my direction. Had you not met me I am positive you wouldn’t have remained alone for long!”

“I would like to go for something to eat,” he answered instantly. A no-brainer as she was very good company and far from agony to look at as well! He pushed himself to his feet, gathering up her towel at the same time. He shook it free of sand and then handed it to Abby. “Let me take that,” he said, gesturing to the board. He hooked it beneath one arm as they headed across to where she’d rented it from.

Felipe tried once more to phone LizBeth while he waited for Abby to finish handing the board back but there was still no reply. It seemed she’d had a busy day as well!

“Ready?” he asked, pushing himself away from the wall when he saw Abby exit the shop. He pushed his phone back into his pocket. She nodded. “Then you choose where we go,” he added. It wasn’t like he knew all that many places and was more than happy just to follow her lead.

A good afternoon had emerged out of one he’d truly expected to be spending alone. It was weird how things turned out... wasn’t it?
