"Never ever go to a guy for advice about sex...if you listen to nothing else I have to say..ever..listen to that." Lana told him, though a grin curled the corners of her lips. She was glad to see that her friend was starting to eat some of the food in front of him now at least.
"I don't know her well enough to guess what her parents are going to say..but if she is on the pill, there is a good chance that her mother might already know that she is active.." The blond girl pointed out. "ooh shotgun weddings..don't mention those near my brother or my dad...both of them would like to keep me caged in a glass box." She sighed quietly. "Has to do with losing Cam when we were 8..over protective.." Lana shook her head.
"I agree..I mean my family has money...but you don't see me throwing it around..or pulling the same stupid bull that the other girls do...I mean..there are more important things."

"I figured that, last thing I wanted was a bunch of woo's and all that other crap. Men are such pigs!" He paused for a moment. "Wait a minute, what am I saying?" he laughed. It felt good to get things in the open to someone who wasn't judgmental.
"Maybe, its hard to say. I might even be praised for being a good boy instead of some bad boy." His smiled widened. "Oh yeah shotgun weddings, I never want to be a part of one." Slate grimaced. "I'm sorry you have to live with that, my brother and myself will probably be like that with our sister. Then again, she's been watching me at karate and picking up moves."
"Exactly, like me it'll be college this fall. I can't believe I'm ready to hit the real world."

Lana laughed, the sound soft and twinkling at poor Slate's expense. At least he had a good sense of humor about it really. "You're saying that men are pigs, which by association, would make you a pig then too?" She asked, pusing her nose up with her finger and oinking playfully at him.
"You're a good guy Slate, I'm sure your parents know it, and Holly obviously sees it or she wouldn't be with you..so you slipped up...it's not a crime and you are neither the first nor the last person to do it." Lana smiled, taking another fry. "It's hard..thinking about Cam..we were trips you know..me, Blake and Cam...Blake..he still...I don't know if he's ever fully moved forward with it..I feel bad for him."
"Not me..I have another year here..though I've been taking advanced classes this year..you know that..means I get a shorter schedule next year..which is good cause I plan to enjoy it somewhat.."

"Okay, let me rephrase that, any guys not sitting at the table here is a pig." He watched her for a moment. "I just won't count the fries you ate since sitting here." He teased her.
"I guess I just felt guilty for what happened. Last thing I'd ever want is to hurt her in any way, especially if she had to carry something for nine months." He listened quietly. "Being triplets, you all had a bond and something severed that bond. It can traumatize a person to no end."
"Smart move, I probably would have been in the advance classes back home. We decided to play it safe though, not knowing if the standards would be higher out here or not. I'm rather glad I didn't jump ahead." It wasn't often a girl who was hot as Lana could also be a good friend.

Lana laughed, making a point in purposely taking another fry from his plate and popping it into her mouth. "Hey...back off..I didn't really grab much of a proper breakfast this morning...I got an essay done for Honor Lit done. It's not due till Wednesday or anything but I start tutoring Tyler Durhnam this week, and I know it's gonna be a lot of work...not only with the material itself but keeping him on task..that boy has the attention span of Hammy." Slate had younger siblings and might know the Over the Hedge reference.
"It's ok to feel guilty about things Slate..anyone that tells you different has issues that need dealing with..it's what you do with the guilt and how you move on that is important you know?" Lana told him. "Sometimes, not talking things out hurts worse. Have to deal with things head first.." If Blake could learn to listen and learn that as well...he would do so much better in therapy. "Yeah..it can...they were really close you know? Both boys..Blake's the oldest..and I think he might feel a little responsible for it? Like he failed Cam somehow..we were 8 for gods sake..it's not his fault.." Lana sighed, blowing hair out of her face.
"It looks good on college aps, as does my tutoring, the newspaper, drama." She grinned. "Plus with an abbreviated schedule for classes..I can start looking for a job, at least a part time one. I don't wanna just depend on my parents for money you know? I'm not like that...I want to have a good nest egg by Graduation..college will be a little easier that way."

Tyler's reputation was spread around school like manure on a farm. "Watch yourself around him, I've only heard that he's like a squid with his arms all over you." He laughed at the Hammy comment. "If need be, I can come along and give him a reminder of how to behave. I promise I won't be as sever as your brother or father."
"How did you get so smart?" He shook his head as he grinned. "I don't think my grandma could dispense such advice. "I can relate somewhat being the oldest in my family. Everyone looks to you to set the examples, watch for the younger ones and such. If I ever have kids, knock on wood, I wouldn't force that on them."
"I decided to go to a community college just to get my feet wet anyway." He nibbled a bit at the burger, which by now was to room temperature.
"Hey can I give you a ride somewhere after this?"
