“Of course! Wouldn’t dream of missing out on the fun after all.” Connor nodded enthusiastically, getting another idea. “Well then, to kick things off...” He pulled the camera away from his neck, draping an arm around Izzy’s shoulder to bring her closer. He held the camera up in front of them both, preparing to take a shot. “Smile and say cheese Iz.” he laughed brightly, taking a photo of themselves. “Now all we have to do is think of a really cheesy quote to put with it. We should put ourselves as one half of the happy ‘couples’ as often as we can. That’ll be hilarious. I’d love to see his face when he sees all the pictures.”
She had a point, everything felt so forced on Valentine’s Day. Surely it was more romantic to have a date on any other day, when such things weren’t expected. “Yeah, that’s true. Well, if I can make some plans with Julia, why don’t you, and Eden if she’s free, tag along?” He liked Eden, met her a few times before, the first when he had started getting talking to Sunar. “We can all go out, hang or something. Rebel against the whole Valentine’s Day or something. Make it a big group thing, bring along everyone lucky enough not to have a date tonight.”

Izzy liked the way Connor thought. "We might be able to sneak the pictures in before the Editor can see them. HE always gets crazy when there is a deadline." She smiled as he took the picture. This would be great, "I almost wish it was April Fool's day but this is better." The only reason Izzy hated April Fools was because of Jett, but that was not for a few months. "Cheesy lines are easy. How about really cliche ones like you light up my life with your smile and I have loved you since I first saw you." The lines sounded cheesy enough to her.
"Sounds good to me." It occurred to Izzy that eden might have plans as Raine, but she would check anyway. "I will have to ask Eden. She might have plans, but I will invite her along if she doesn't because that sounds fun to me. Count me in. Just let me know when and were." Part of Izzy wanted Eden to go, but the other part hoped she could pull off this joke with Jett because it would be great. "Oh I can invite Ben too. Eden's brother." No offense to Ben, but Izzy doubted he had a date.

“Sure, we should be able to do that easy. And if I have to, I’ll distract him with inane questions and you can sneak everything in. He’s always going on about us all thinking of ways to get more people to read the paper, that’s what we would be doing after all.” Connor shrugged, knowing full well that’s not the kind of the Editor had in mind. But it was funny, and it would get more people to take a look, so he really didn’t see a problem with it. “Aprils Fools? Yeah, that’s not too long away actually. You know, we should think of something to do for then as well, a good prank. I mean, if we can come up with this for today, imagine the fun we could have then.” he laughed, keen on the idea. He wasn’t normally one for pranks, but harmless ones like this were fun.
Hearing Izzy’s suggestions for cheesy lines, Connor had to cover his mouth with his hand, but that wasn’t all too effective in hiding his soft sniggers. “You light up my life with your smile? Oh, that has to be the one we use for that photo. I wonder if anyone would actually buy it. I hope so, it’ll be funny, I’ll try to keep it going for a while. Just keep your brother away from me, I don’t want him trying to intimidate me.” he laughed.
“Yeah, I know Ben a little.” Connor nodded softly. “Was actually going to take photos of him and Eden surfing a little while back. Didn’t end up working out at the time, but I can bring it up again to him. Sure, sounds good. Whole big group thing. I’ll see if Sunar wants to come with too.”

"Oh we should do different poses for the pictures too. Just to keep it fun. Oh i can so sneak the pics in if you distract him. He will have to praise us for creativity. After he is done being mad and saying we supposedly ruined the paper." Izzy put the ruined the paper in quotes, "I for one think this is just making it better. Like you said having some fun." She smiled, "A prank for April fools...now I can do that. I am not use to pulling pranks, but this could be fun." She was actually excited about this. And it did not hurt that the editor would have a cow.
"I will keep it going to and don't worry about Jett. He just likes to act tough. He is harmless. Just tell him you know about his secret cabbage patch doll named Dexter and he will leave you alone. But shhh don't tell anyone else I told you that." Izzy said laughing and placing a finger over her lips as she said shhh.
"Sounds like a plan. Oh and you should invite your friend Julia too. The more the merrier. I will try and find eden and Ben at lunch." She nodded about the surfing comment, "They are always surfing. I swear they should lie in the ocean. I wish I could surf like that but sadly I have been to scared to ask Ben or even eden to teach her.

Thinking of Izzy’s brother, Connor found it hard to reconcile the image of the flirty, popular footballer with that of someone who had a secret cabbage patch doll. So there was something more embarrassing than his love of High School Musical. After all, that was a movie, with pretty catchy songs, whereas Jett’s secret love was for a ... doll? “Dexter? He has a...oh...sorry.” Connor smirked, instantly lowering his voice. “He has a cabbage patch doll called Dexter? Ok, that’s not quite what I imagined a footballer having. Where does he keep it? Please, tell me, he has it on his bed.” Connor laughed, realising how unlikely that was, but the thought of it was funny all the same. “Well, when you start planning for April Fool’s Day, make sure you don’t leave Dexter out of the fun. And don’t worry, I promise, I will try not to spill his secret to anyone.” he teased as they walked into the school.
“Will do. Was thinking about dropping by Silver at lunch actually, will talk to her about it then. How bout we all meet at Texas Steakhouse tonight? We can grab something to eat and then can decide where to go from there?” he suggested, thinking it was a good idea to have that sorted before they go and start inviting people.
“Well, if they come tonight, how about I ask, for the both of us?” Connor offered, grinning at the notion of him trying to surf. “I think I would be bad at it, but, I’d give it a go. And if it doesn’t work out for me, I can cheer for you from the sand.”

Izzy could not believe she spilled about the doll. Not even Eden knew that. The reason Izzy did not tell Eden was because she knew Eden would hold it over Jetts head and then jett would go for ammunition on Eden. No...none of that would end very well. Izzy laughed as Connor asked where the doll was. "Sadly I regret to inform you that no...the doll does not sleep on the bed. dexter is on this shelf in Jett's closet." She said with a smile, "Oh believe me I know. I use it as blackmail. I threaten to tell ass his friends. I guess I can be sneaky when I want to be."
The plan sounded good, "Yeah we can all meet there. I will ask at lunch. I am sure Eden and Ben will be in. That is unless they have plans to surf, but I think I can convince them other wise." Or at least she hoped. "You would ask. I would be grateful. And there will be no cheering from the sand. Even if you suck. If I am surfing, then you are surfing." She smiled. Plotting with Connor was fun. She could not wait to see what they would do for April Fools.
