"Uh...isn't that what you're making right now?" Brittany questioned, looking at the other girl as she went on about the lemon cupcakes. It sounded good and all but Brittany was much more interested in anything that had chocolate in it...or peanut butter...or both.
"You saw that?" Brittany said making a face about the cheerleading outfit. That had been so embarrassing. Brittany didn't like to think about it at all. She followed the other girl up to her room, taking the shirt, she offered, which was admittedly cool and looked like something Brittany would wear. "Thanks," she said, heading to the bathroom. Really, Brit didn't see the point. She changed in front of other girls in the locker room and she probably would have changed right there in front of Ella, but Ella told her to go to the bathroom to change, so Brit obliged, not really thinking it was a big deal either way.
She walked into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her. It was still a bit ajar but she didn't notice. Upon looking in the mirror, Brittany realized she needed to clean up a bit more. She placed the shirt on the top part of the toilet wanting to get it out of the way as she splashed water on her face and rubbed out the chocolate. Satisfied with her new clean face, she pulled off her chocolate stained shirt, just as Ella asked her if she needed anything. Startled by the other girls voice, just as she was about to grab the shirt, Brittany accidentally pushed it a little and just like that it slid into the open toilet bowl.
"Oops..." Brittany said, looking at the shirt which was half in toilet water. Brittany made a face as she pushed the bathroom door open, not really thinking about that fact that she was standing before the other girl in just her jeans and her very bright multi colored polka dot bra. Ella certainly was going to think there was something wrong with her...chocolate all over the place...shirts in the toilet! She needed to keep it together!
"I uh...I kind of..." she began, feeling rather silly. "Um...just come here," she said, grabbing Ella's hand and dragging her into the bathroom. She pointed at the shirt in the toilet. "I accidentally knocked it in there," she explained. "Sorry...I don't think I'm usually this much of a spaz..." she said trailing off.

Ella realised her blunder and giggled embarrassedly. She was really messing up in front of Brittany. Which shouldn't really be a problem. She was with Evan! Ella didn't stand a chance. Brittany was straight that should be the end of the dicussion. She felt like such a hypocrite for being so shameful for Hannah flirting with Evan and here she was being all flustered by Evan's girlfriend!
"Aw hon...I think everyone in the squad saw it...but it's okay. I'm one of the few who kind of ragged on Aly about that. It was pretty mean. At least I thought it was." Ella reassured the girl as they got to her room.
Ella heard a soft plopping sound from the bathroom and Brittany making a sound of surprise. The brunette frowned slightly before approaching the bathroom only to be assaulted by Brittany's polka-dotted bra. A slew of curses rushed through her mind as she stared at the other girl's body. Ella had recently managed to get used to the other cheerleaders changing in front of her but then again, even though the other girls on her squad are very...very well-endowed, they weren't what fascinated Ella.
But here was the girl she was having a crush on, half naked in front of her and pulling her into the bathroom to point at something in the toilet bowl. Ella was way too immersed in the whole Brittany holding her hand thing that she didn't care that the shirt she wore for five weeks straight when she first got it was in the toilet bowl. She could wash that. It was no biggie. But Brittany was holding on to her hand right then with her top off. Those were the things Ella was way too shocked to move for.
She realised that Brittany had stopped talking and Ella was still staring. Blinking rapidly, Ella brought her eyes upwards to meet Brittany's and tried to form words. "I uh...it's uh...is..." Pull yourself together, Ella!! This was NOT the time to lose her vocabulary! Her eyes dropped down to Brittany's bra before going up to her lips. Biting her own, Ella was not proud of what she was about to do mainly because she was a traitor to her own beliefs and because it would very well ruin whatever friendship she had with Brittany and Evan if he caught wind of it.
Moving forward, her hand instantly pulled Brittany's before pressing her lips on to the other girls' gently. It was a brief kiss but for Ella, it was more than she could ever bargain for. When she pulled away, she looked at Brittany for a reaction. She just hoped a slap wasn't on the way.

This was bad...very bad...Ella hated her! Clearly her non-talking was because she was furious at Brit for making such a mess of her house. Usually, Brittany didn't care what people thought of her, if they wanted to hate her, fine by her. She figured it was their loss anyway. But, here was Ella who had gone out of her way to be nice to Brit and she'd ruined it all by acting like a 5 year old. She felt really bad.
And then, it got stranger. Ella squeezed her hand...what was that for? But before Brittany could even ask the other girl's lips were on hers. She stood there and just let Ella kiss her...too shocked to do anything else as a mix of emotions flew through her brain. Ella liked girls? Now she understood how Evan had been so clueless about Syn and Hannah... Ella liked girls? Or her rather? Oh wow, she was topless...she was topless and a girl was kissing her...
Ella pulled away and Brittany just stared at her for a moment as she tried to collect all those thoughts. "So...you're not mad about the shirt in the toilet thing?" she finally asked, forming her first words since the incident. It was clear she was in a bit of shock though...he eyes were still wide and mouth slightly open...and she was standing stock still.
Finally Brittany shook her head, sort of snapping out of it. "I'm sorry," she said. "I didn't know you like...liked girls...or me...or I guess girls, but cause I'm not assuming you like me or anything, I'm not like conceited or anything..." She bit down on her lower lip, "I just, I guess that was just...unexpected...and if you want to...experiment or whatever, I understand...that's cool, I just...maybe you should...get someone else. I mean...you know, cause I'm with Evan and we just got past all this drama with him kissing that Syn girl and then Hannah flirting with him...and I just don't think I should be kissing anyone else right now..." Brittany let out a small sigh, "I mean, if I could kiss anyone else...it would totally be you," she added, in an attempt to make Ella feel better, but then realized she was probably being misleading, "okay...that's kind of a lie, but I don't want you to like feel bad about it or anything...do you think I can have a shirt now?"

Ella could have frowned and walked away in a huff when the first thing coming out of Brittany's mouth was about the t-shirt in the toilet bowl but Ella found it amusing and covered her face with one hand, wiping it down before settling on her cheek. "Um...no...not exactly what I had in mind." She couldn't believe she actually kissed Ella. Now what was she going to think about her inviting the junior to her house that was empty with her all dressed up to bake cupcakes?
When Brittany apologised, Ella did frown. Her ramble was nonsensical at best but Ella had to stop her. "Whoa...chill girl. You aren't conceited...one of the reasons why I like you in the first place. And...I'm the one who should be sorry. I didn't mean to..." she sighed softly, taking into account what big a mess she had put the two in. She heard a bang from downstairs, indicating Casey was home. Ella breathed a sigh of relief. He'll have to help them in the kitchen so the pair wouldn't be so awkward around each other.
She chuckled a bit when Brittany changed her mind quickly about kissing her. The girl was trying to make her feel better, Ella knew. It didn't work but she appreciated the effort. When Brittany asked for a shirt, Ella tried to joke to lighten the mood. "Naw, you can use the hair dryer in there to dry up the t-shirt you dropped in the toilet bowl." She laughed with a shrug. "Of course..." Ella walked to her dresser and got out a plain dark blue t-shirt. "So if you spill anything else, it wouldn't be too obvious." Ella offered the t-shirt before moving to leave the room. She was calming down some and had to stupidly accuse herself for being such an idiot.
"I'll just put the cupcakes into the oven." She said, closing the door only to run into her twin. "Hey, sis. Was that cupcakes downstairs?" Casey asked. Ella nodded. "Want to help?" She asked, hoping it was a yes. Casey shrugged. "Let me change and I'll be down in a sec. Is someone in your room?" her twin asked, looking at the door. "Yep, um...Brittany Barnes. She spilled something on her shirt. And no you're not allowed in there. Just come downstairs."
Ella went down and continued with the cupcakes, looking up with a casual smile when Brittany and Casey finally appeared in the kitchen. "First two batches already in the oven. We'll finish the mixes and pour them into the cups so we can immediately put them into the oven later." She was quite proud of herself for being in total control despite the stupid mistake she had done minutes ago.

Ella hardly talked about the kiss...where was that one moment where she admitted to liking Brittany and then when she apologized but other than that she seemed all over the place. Brittany felt bad and she knew her rambling probably hadn't helped matters. But before she could say anything to Ella, Ella's brother come home and the next thing Brittany knew, she was standing there topless and alone in Ella's room.
Brittany sighed and put on the clean shirt, taking her time as she walked back to the bathroom and fished the shirt out of the toilet. Luckily there was a dry part that hadn't fallen into the bowl so she didn't have to stick her hand in there. She held the shirt away from her, so nothing dripped on her as she walked it over and dropped it into Ella's hamper.
Making he way down to the kitchen it seemed that Ella had taken over the baking efforts and now her brother had joined them. Brittany had no issues with Casey so to speak, but right now she sort of wanted to talk to Ella, but for now Brittany kept her mouth shut as they finished mixing the other batches. Once they were in the oven, Brittany gave Ella a look. "Do we have a bit...while they bake...20 minutes right?" she asked, remembering from the first batch. "Do you think I can...ummm...ask you something....its personally, sorry," she said looking over at Casey. She was trying to be nonchalant but she wasn't very good at it, but before Ella could protest, Brittany grabbed her hand and dragged back up to Ella's room.
Once in Ella's room, Brit shut the door and sat down on Ella's bed. "So I um...get this is sort of awkward," Brittany said. She was trying her hardest to be mature, which wasn't exactly her strong suit. "But um...you kissed me," she said. "I mean, I know I probably didn't give you the reaction that you were expecting or wanted, but I guess, I was shocked. I just...I guess I just wanted to let you know I'm...okay with it. You don't have to like apologize or feel bad or pretend you're really intent on baking or anything," she said. "And I mean...I should probably tell Evan what happened...cause I don't want to lie to him, but if you want, I can like not say anything, if you want. I didn't know you like...liked girls so I don't know if its something you're open about or not...but if you ever need someone to talk about stuff with...I mean, obviously I suck at this, but I'm here if you need someone to talk to or anything," Brittany offered, reaching out and placing her hand on Ella's, as a friendly/comforting gesture. It didn't occur to her that it could be taken as something else. "So...are we good? Can we just be normal again and non-awkward?" she asked innocently, looking over at Ella. Maybe Brit should have been angry or something over the whole thing, and if Ella had been a boy, she probably would have been, but Brittany found herself feeling bad, figuring that it was probably a lot harder for Ella to find someone who liked her back.

Random chitchat between the siblings and pretty much silence from Brittany. Ella wondered if the girl hated her now. Why did she have to go and mess things up? If this were any other situation and if Brittany was a boy and had taken his shirt off, would Ella have pounced on him the way she had done to the poor junior? God, Ella could be such a dunce sometimes.
Ella decided to just concentrate on the cupcakes and checked the ones in the oven to see if they were done. It wasn't but she could see it was rising pretty well. The dark-haired senior turned with an accomplished smile only to have it fall when she noticed Brittany giving her a look. Ella turned to her twin when Brittany said it was personal. Casey looked at Ella and shrugged. "I'll stay down here. Make sure things don't go kablooey." And she was grabbed by the hand again, much like before...before everything went haywire.
She mouthed a thank you to her brother and followed Brittany up. Neither girls realised that the door hadn't fully shut and Ella was concentrated on the girl on her bed. Slowly, she lowered herself on the bed next to the girl she'd had a crush on for awhile now. As she listened to Brittany try to make sense of what had happened, Ella felt a bit ashamed of herself. She had done exactly what she would have reprimanded Hannah and apparently the Syn girl if she had had the chance to talk to either of them.
What a hypocrite she was to think that she was above all of it when she did the one thing she was so against in the first place. Why did she think she was any better than the girls who had flirted with Evan? She was in fact worst than both of them put together. Was it because Brittany was a girl? And girls kissing other unavailable straight girls weren't any bigger a thing if it happened between a boy and a girl?
Ella sighed softly before looking up just as Brittany placed her hand on the senior's shoulders. She refused to believe it was anything but a comforting hand so Ella pulled it down and placed it on Brittany's lap, patting it once before looking forward. "Like I said before...I didn't mean to. I shouldn't have done it and especially not to you. Not after what you had to go through with Evan and the two girls. It was unfair of me." Of course she was rationalising this. Why shouldn't she? She was at fault and she had to admit it to herself even though it pained her to do so.
Ugh...she was doing so damn good with her therapy. This was going to set her back some. She turned with a smile on her face. "Of course we're good. I mean, if you want it to be. Let's chalk it up to a big mistake on my part. Make sure Evan knows I'm sorry for stealing you away even for just a couple of hours." She stood up and went to the door to open it just as a shadow disappeared down the staircase. She turned to Brittany. "Come on. The cupcakes aren't going to bake themselves." She laughed.
