“I understand. You’ve got too good of a heart.” Tyler told Skye in playful jest, when that sort of quality was something that most other people would think was actually good. It wasn’t as though he saw it as something bad, far from it actually, he just saw it as a quality that tended to get in the way on occasion. Such as now, for example. He really didn’t think it would be the worse thing in the world for Nate to get a dose of his own medicine. At least that way he’d find out just how bad it felt being on the receiving end, being the one cheated on. Besides, revenge was the best form of payback, really.
And of course there was just a little selfish motivation on Tyler’s part to prefer this plan of attack. As he recalled, the girl had been a very good kisser, so having another chance to indulge this was an opportunity he wouldn’t knock back. “You’re clearly far too good for him, then, if that’s the case. But you know, I wouldn’t think any less of you if you ever happen to change your mind. I’d make myself available.” he grinned, though he doubted she would ever take him up on this offer. Oh well, there were always plenty of other pretty girls at school.
He was a little surprised to learn that Nate wasn’t who the girl had really been interested in during their brief fling. He had known that Skye wanted someone else, of course, just as he was always chasing after other girls. They’d both were well aware their little relationship, if it could even be called that, was never destined for anything serious. He was just how he liked things. So he really couldn’t be offended that her mind hadn’t been completely focused on him during that fun little time together. But he’d always figured that guy in question was Nate. Who it actually had been, however, was none of his business, and in all honesty, not too much of interest to him.
“I can’t speak from experience, as you know.” Tyler grinned. “But I can see why it got to you as badly as it did. It was rather out of the blue, it seems, it’s completely understandable,” given your condition, though he didn’t mention it, “that you reacted the way you did.” Seriously though, did the man have no tact? If you were going to cheat (which if you wanted to so badly, you shouldn’t date in the first place, just made things easier), you at least had the sense to be discrete about it.
“Again, no experience to guide me, but I’m speaking on behalf of my sex. Whatever you do, don’t call him. If you call him, forgive him, without any effort on his part, to him it will seem as if he can get away with that sort of behaviour, if that is what he wants.” He may not have experienced this personally, but years of being around women seemed to be paying dividends, in more ways than one. “If he really cares about you, and I have a feeling, from what I’ve seen, he does, he will come to you, before the end of the day. I’d even bet on it. And when he does, I suggest you make him work hard to earn your trust back.”
