Enjoying Life...Mike tag Dare

Mike kissed Dare again. "Good. I want you to be happy." Mike said. Mike needed Dare to be happy. If Mike hurt Dare then Mike would be convinced he was the bad guy. Mike would not do that. Jade was starting to believe in him again, Dare believed in him. Mike needed that. His friends believed inhim. Mike use to feel so alone. Now he no longer had that feeling.

Mike sighed, "I want to take you out. You deserve it. I won't have us hiding away in the bedroom. Of course I would not mind spending the nights in the bedroom, but I want to take you out during the day. On a date. I have a little money. Once I get a job I will get to take you out more." Of course there were things they could do that did not involve money. Thank god. Cause Mike was strapped until he got a job.

Yet Mike did not want people to think he was after Dare's money. He wanted to let people know he could waste his money on something that was not drugs. For once he would show people he could be a good guy. Mike had spent the last few months being the bad guy. It was time to shed that image and be the guy worthy of Jade's friendship and Dare's love.

"You've made me very happy Mike and I would be happy even if we never left the bedroom, but I would also love to go out with you. I have plenty of money and its even my own because I got paid when I worked for my dad's band and I have the money from the album my band put out. My business manager invested it for me and I still get royalties every month. I would love to see the boat some time. We could go rollerskating or camping or something. I haven't really done any sightseeing either. It's not much fun to do alone. There is the carnival on the pier too." Dare was truly easy to please and he would be happy as long as Mike was with him. Wrapped in Mike's arms he was content to snuggle the hours away. He heard the door slam and realized Syn was home.


"Dare! You're such a slob,"she called out, kicking his clothing into a pile.

He giggled against Mike's chest glad it was her and not his dad.

Mike had to laugh when Dare' s sister walked in and called Dare a slob. It had been fun seeing him shed his clothes so Mike was happy Dare was a slob for now. Mike held him close, "All that sounds good to me." Mike said. "We can do it all, but how about the pier first, them maybe sight seeing this weekend." Mike had not really been to the carnival at the pier except to get high. Now he actually wanted to enjoy it.

Mike kissed Dare's forehead. "Maybe we can have a cook out one day on the boat, there is a lot we are going to be doing together." Cause Mike knew as long as he hung out with his true friends and Dare, he would be okay. They were his reminded why staying off drugs was a good thing. Also it helped to go to NA meetings, which he had one Thursday afternoon. Mike decided that was a better time for him. No football practice or anything.

Mike sighed and stretched, "But for now staying in bed seems fine to me, but would your dad be upset if he found us?" Mike did not need to piss off Dare's dad. Although Mike did have bad luck with parents. Mike use to piss parents off. Kiki's parents hated him, then again Mike had never wanted to impress parents like this before.

Dare wasn’t sure how his father would react. It was rather hypocritical since his dad made regular use of the groupies, but he had a feeling his father was not convinced that Dare was old enough especially to be with a man something his father didn’t understand. “I don’t know really, he will either love you or hate that we sleep together. He knows about you and appreciates that you saved me. I will have to sit down and have a long talk with him.

Dare loved his father, but there were times he didn’t agree with him. If he came against his relationship, Dare would have no problem letting his father know he thought him a hypocrite. He hoped it wouldn’t come to that, but things were not going to always be easy between them. Maddog wasn’t comfortable with gays and there was no doubt what he was. “I think I could deal with dad if he gets angry, but I really don’t know what he will do. Are you hungry? I could make us some dinner unless you want to go to the pier and see what we can get there?”

Parents....wonderful. He always had a hard time with them. Hopefully, Dare's dad would love him since he seemed to like him for saving Dare. However, Mike still had to meet the man in person and do not even start Mike on his parents. "I hope you don't mind never meeting my dads. At least not yet. I can't see them right now." he told Dare. "I was adopted, so I don't even know who my birth parents are. All I have are my dads and for obvious reasons I don't want you to meet them."

Giving what Mike revealed he hoped Dare would understand. His dads had not even met Jade. Mike never introduced his dads to anyone cause he was afraid. Or had been afraid. Now he was getting over that. Mike would always be afraid, but being away from his dads was helping. Maybe one day he could go confront them, maybe convince them to get help or something. Mike loved his dads despite the beatings, but Mike knew if he lived at home right now those beatings would not stop and Mike was not sure he could survive there.

"Dinner sounds good. We should get dressed and make an appearance. When do you expect your dad home? i want to make a good impression." Mike had a feeling catching him in bed with his son would not be a good impression.

"Dad will be home around 10pm I think," Dare said, trying to remember what his Dad had said on the phone. He rolled up to sitting on the edge of the bed and reached for some clothing from his chest. He put on pair of denim cut offs and a bright orange tank top. He stretched as he dressed, feeling a bit stiff and sore. A pair of bright green converse went on his feet. He handed Mike a stack of his clothing that had been laundered and folded. "Rusty's Surf Ranch would be best for my diet, they have a few dishes that are vegetarian. They have live bands nightly too. Does that sound okay or should i order something that I can pick up on the way?" he asked, hating to be a pain, but he didn't eat meat ever.
