At the alley - Takumi/Izzy - open!

Takumi wasn't entirely convinced by Izzy's words of reassurance but he was far too polite to say that out loud. Instead he picked up 'Kitty' and drawing in a deep breath to focus his thoughts he approached the lane.

This was surely going to end in tears. Tears of either utter embarassment or uncontrollable laughter when he did something just as dumb as he'd done the first time he'd given this a try.

Focus.

Concentrate.

'You can do this... You CAN do this...'

"SUGOI!" he shouted, arms high and hands pumping the air. Ok, so he'd only taken out two pins but the ball had reached the very far end and this time NOT courtesy of the gulley at the side.

He threw Izzy a broad grin and anyone watching would have (rightly) assumed Takumi had flattened all 10 pins.

He watched as the pink ball was returned and he gathered it close to his chest, frowning a little when he saw that some of the image's nose had already worn off.

He knew he'd never become an expert but at least he was showing a degree of improvement... Albeit it close to non-existent.

"Zorro... You are up."

He glanced at Izzy. "You are up? That's right... isn't it?" Thankfully she nodded.

Christophe had been watching Lia who had told him she'd be right back. She'd gone over to another alley where she started to talk with another girl. She hadn't seemed all that happy when people had assumed them to be dating so maybe she was looking to find an avenue of escape... or something. He couldn't blame her for that. After all, they hardly knew each other and the dating concept liekly to be seen as far too rapid a move.

"Nice shot," he said to Takumi. Sure, he'd only scored two but it was clear he'd never played before and so was rightly pleased with himself. Add to that the fact that his excitement was infectuous and Christophe was unable to prevent returning the Japanese boy's smile.

His thoughts were elsewhere as he took his turn and therefore blinked in surprise when all 10 pins toppled.

Takumi jumped to his feet and clapped his hands, uttering that odd word again. Christophe hazarded a guess that it meant something along the lines of the Japanese equivalent to 'wow' or 'awesome' but couldn't be sure.

He retook his seat, mildly frustrated that Lia hadn't been there to watch his throw. Still, she said she'd be back soon... right?

"Would anyone like something to drink?" he asked.

Takumi shook his head and gestured towards his half full bottle of water.

"I'll bring back three sodas... just in case," he said before heading for the vending machine. He rummaged in his pocket, pushing aside the Canadian 'toonie' and at the same time wondering how the 1 euro coin had lasted that long in his jacket. He found enough US coinage and fed the machine...

Christophe bought enough sodas for everyone at their table... even Takumi who had water... just in case they wanted it later. He also bought one for Lia as he felt sure she'd soon be back with them. He deposited them onto the table and watched as Izzy took her turn. Lia was up next but she was still over with her friend.

Chrsitophe glanced across and then returned his attention to the game at hand.

A few moments later and Lia made her return and Christophe smiled down at her as she took his arm and kissed his cheek. Of course, she'd been forced to stretch up on the tips of her toes to reach him and even then the French boy had bent down slightly to meet her.

"No apologies called for," he assured her. "And you are just in time for your turn..."

They continued to play for another hour or so before Christophe took Lia to one side. "Do you feel like heading out of here and getting a meal?" he asked. "Its not that I haven't had a great time. I really have," he assured her. "But it might be nice to have some time alone together... ya know?"

She nodded and they said their goodbyes before they headed outside. "So, where shall we go?" he asked. "Dressed like this I suppose we are a bit limited," he added with a wry smile.
