Gray woke up with a hangover the size of...something bigger than Texas. It was a wonder how the parties he had ever been to have never been raided or ratted on because of the excessive amount of alcohol and drugs being passed around to minors, just like himself. Don't get him started on the music; his band had played on several occassions in parties like the one he had attended last night.
"Grayson Shepherd!" the banging of the door and the shrilly voice of Gray's mother made him jump from the edge of his bed down to the floor, hitting his head on a big black bag of something hard. A stream of colourful words flew out of Gray's mouth, which earned him a fast thwack at the back of his head courtesy of his mother who announced the presence of the youngest Shepherd in the room, who giggled at her brother being abused.
"Ma..." he groaned at the double pain on his head as he pushed himself off the floor to look at the ladies in his life, smiling in pain at his sister before returning his attention to his mother. "I highly recommend you never do that ever again." He nursed his head in his hands as he flopped down on his bed again.
"It isn't exactly my fault that you were out at odd hours last night doing God knows what and sleeping in this pig sty straight after." Mama Shepherd crossed her arms and looked at her eldest with a stern look on her face. "I want you to freshen up and bring Daisy to that dinky music store to get her chopsticks for her-"
"Ma! Drumsticks!" both Daisy and Gray exclaimed at the same time, amused at their mother's lack of musical knowledge when both her offspring were clearly into it. They looked at each other and shared a mutual look before snapping their attention back to their mother when she caught wind of their telepathic communication behind her back. Shaking her head when she saw that there was nothing going on between the siblings, she went on and told Gray to help Daisy with picking up some musical equipment. She told them to stay within the budget as they were still strapped on cash.
Gray tried to blink away the pain in his head as his hand reached out to accept the cash his mother was offering. "Does it have to be this morning? Like...seriously? It's an unearthly hour." His voice thick and crumbly as he slowly looked up at his mother who had an incredulous look on her face. "You call ten o'clock unearthly? Just get out of bed. You can bring the car. The rain's getting heavier so be careful." She threw her car keys on the bed and ruffled Daisy's already messy hair before going to the kitchen.
"Come on, Shep. I really want those Zildjian drumsticks I saw down at Kiss My Amps. Please, please, please!" Daisy begged her elder brother profusely, giving him her foolproof, never fail puppy dog look Gray always fell for. "You're lucky you're cute." He grumbled as he slowly made his way to the toilet to get ready.

Once in the car, Gray made sure he was fine to drive before strapping his sister in tight in her seat. His mother was not kidding about the rain as the car rolled out into the heavy torrent. "Yikes." The Shepherd siblings both mouthed. Gray switched on the lights and wiper as he drove to the music store.
"You better grab your jacket and umbrella from behind." Gray instructed his little sister when they arrived as he zipped up his parka and pulled down the hood over his head. Killing the car engine, Gray quickly got out of the car to go over to his sister's side and help her out. Together they went inside the warm music shop only damaging the hem of their jeans which were soaked through to Gray's shins.
"You don't work here you know?" James the cashier and co-owner of Kiss My Amps commented when he saw his regular customer. "But you brought Daisy along...hey little princess. What can I do for you today?" Gray's bouncy little sister immediately went to the drum set aisle, dragging James along with her to talk about the best paddle and new cymbals she thought of applying on her new drum kit and of course, her drumsticks.
Gray smiled affectionately at his sister prattling on and on about this and that with James. For a minute, he just leaned against the wall and looked on to his sister, wondering how long this passion for music was going to last and if she was going to follow his footsteps soon enough. When he got bored of just standing around, he walked the aisles, admiring the brand new musical equipments the store held. The best thing about this place was that they sold things for a reasonable price and the quality was excellent and the customer service wasn't that bad. It wasn't even a high end store either. Just a hole in the wall that not many people know about unless they were acquaintances of someone who knew the place.
As he was admiring a sweet amplifier, someone came up to him probably thinking he was one of the salespeople. Oh well, he knew this place inside and out...might as well help.
