Duke woke up that early morning and took a shower and got dress, and head down to work at the 7 eleven. He opened the place up and tossed his things into the back with out a care in the world. He had a rough day yesterday esepecially after finding that letter in his locker it was so heart breaking for him. But now he needed to get over it and move on.
Duke leaned against the counter by the register bored out of his mind. He played with the pen tossing it up and down and then later he got bored with that and walked around the store to see if anything needed replaced or straighten out. but nothing, he went back to the counter being bored till he heard the door rang, Duke suddenly stood up looking professional.
"Welcome to 7 Eleven!" he said disguising his true voice the voice that was screaming in pain.

After her interesting afternoon with Tyler the day before Sarissa went home and just planned to spend the day inside. She was sure Tyler would come through and make Sunday an awesome day, but Sarissa still planned on saying no to him at the end of it. Sari decided she needed a friend day. She had not talked to Duke in a few days and she could use some innocent flirty fun. At least before the brunch.
Sari called Duke's house and found out Duke was at work. Sarissa showered and fixed her hair and make up after the shower. Then she dressed in jeans, heels, and a cute top. She drove to the 7 eleven where she knew Duke worked and walked in. She pushed her sunglasses onto the top of her head when she smiled at the sound of Duke's voice."
he did not sound happy. "Is that anyway to greet your best friend." Sarissa jumped up onto the counter and swung her legs over and scooted to the edge so she was facing Duke her legs on the same side of the counter as his body. "So you gonna tell me what the voice was for?" Sarissa did not care if she should not be sitting on top of the counter facing Duke. She did it anyway.

Duke realized it was his friend Sari, she was the kind of friend he can go to and confide in her. As she came to him and sat on the counter facing him with her legs on each side by his hip. When she asked what was really wrong. Duke sighed and looks down a bit and then looked up into her eyes. He knew he couldn't lie to her.
"I ah... gotten a letter from Nichole... she left me before we even started a relationship." he said gently as he rubbed his hand at the back of his neck. Sari always was there for him when he was hurting or needed some one to hang out with and of course just to flirt around with. She is one of the reason why his reputation precieves him. Ever since his ex girlfriend cause it, he had no choice in living that lie, and thats when he met Sari. Sari help to keep his reputation on.
"So beautiful what brings you here to a dump like this?" He said playfully changing his voice and expression on his face to act like the 1920 gangster, feeling a bit cheered up now that he had his favorite person visiting him. It had been a while but it was good to always flirt with her.

Sari hated to see her friends upset. Especially Duke, he was such a great guy. Why could no one see that. It was probably thanks to his idiotic ex girlfriend. That was the only girl Sari ever actually wanted to punch. "Well it's her loss. Soon she will realize that she make the stupidest mistake in the world." Sari assured her friend. "Now turn that frown upside down. You know I do not tolerate anything expect a smile on that handsome face." She told him in a very sweet voice.
"Well I must say, keep calling me beautiful and this will no longer be a dump." She commented, "I have not seen you in a while and i thought why not stop by and possibly convince you to just leave here right now." Sari said with a smile. "You can play sick..i can pretend to take you home...come...one day of playing hooky and faking sick won't kill you. besides they need you too damn much at this place." Although Sari was fine just sitting there and talking.
However, the idea was interesting to see what Duke would do. She would not force him unless he agreed. "Besides I could use some fun before the brunch. I am avoiding Tyler for now. He is suppose to find me sometime today to tell me about our plans for Sunday evening. He is so much fun to tease, he thinks I am going to sleep with him. Man does he have another thing coming."

Duke softly chuckled when she asked him to drop this job for the day and hang out with her. It sounds tempting, and plus he needed some fun right now, the business was slow here and he wasn't in the mood to get bored. So he then smiled. "Sure I'll close up due to pest inspection." Duke grin charmly.
He then walked over to the register and put in the code for lock up. He went in the back of the storage room and grabbed his leather jacket and took off his uniform shirt and put on his long sleeve grey v-neck shirt. He then came back into the store just now sliding into his jacket and pulled out the masters key from his pocket. He then lead Sari out. "Beautiful ladies first!" he said, and once he let her out he then closed up the store. "Tyler huh..? having fun making him hang from the fish hook?" he chuckled.
"Well just becareful alright, I don't want to see you get hurt and all!" Duke said seriously and with concern. "You know well enough if anyone ever hurts you in anyway, you know I'll take care of you and the situation!" he promised as he always does. "So what would you like to do before the brunch?" he asked and then stopped and looks at her for a moment. "What is this brunch anyways?" he asked kind of curious now.

"You know me, I am always careful. Tyler is a gentleman and I know he understands the words 'no'. So don't worry your handsome little face. Trust me. i know what I am doing. I only ever mess with guys who are sweet on the inside, but players on the outside." Sari told him. It was true. She messed with guys who thought they could get any girl they wanted. It was fun to knock then down.
"So my plan is simple.....a walk on the beach, maybe a stroll down the Pier. I could use some cotton candy."Sari liked the simple things. A picnic on the beach, a date to the carnival, or even just dinner and a walk. It was just simple fun. Sari was use to extravagant and crap, and she just liked simple. Extravagant is what she got when she had been on that stupid show. People felt the need to impress her with fancy meals, and fancy drinks and fancy crap.
Sari was a simple girl and she liked simple things. Anyone who could show her that would be in her bed in no time. But she did not advertise this either. She let people think what they want. She would wait for some guy to figure it out, "So come on...." Sari said dragging Duke along. "Its a Brunch Bree Marcus put together." Sari went into an explanation of the brunch.

Duke smiled as he listened to her talk about Tyler and that he shouldn't worry and she was right. Infact she is a big girl and she can take care of herself. And going to the beach sounded like an awesome idea. He hasn't been to the beach in forever so he was happy to skip work and join Sari for a walk along the beach.
"Cotton Candy it is!" he said as he promised to buy her cotton candy. "I'll grab a hot dog while I'm at it!" he agreed. He went with her as she dragged him. He smiled and laughed a bit being dragged by her. He didnt mind it at all in fact she was the only girl he allowed to drag him any where and also he lets her do what ever she like to do with him, make him be silly he'll do it, daring him to do something outrages, even though he'll hesitate for a moment but he'll do it. because he enjoy making her laugh and have fun. When she is laughing and having fun so was he.
"Ah Bree Marcus... the PJ birthday party how interesting is that!" he realized it was the birthday party that has been going around lately. Most of the people been getting all excited about it. Duke was glad he wasn't going it sounded too silly. But then again if Sari was going he'd might go, he then was curious to see what she would wear to the party knowing how she is. "Although I would mind going after all to see what you'll be putting on!" he joked with a grin on his face and chuckled. "Love to pay to see the look on their faces when they see you coming in!" he said.
As they reached the pier, he saw a small snack stand close by he went over, to get cotton candy for Sari and a hotdog for himself and a large bottle of water for them to share incase. A bottle of water today is ridiculous, he was probably better off drinking from the water from a dog's bowl. But he was thirsty and wanted something very cold to drink and simple.
"So what are you doing later this weekend besides teasing Tyler?" he asked curiously. He hasn't gone out for a good night of fun with Sari in a long time and was up for a good movie night at one of their places and take in for some tai food take out.
"If you don't have any plans after that, I was wondering if you wanted to rent a movie and get take out like we use to!" he said shrugging as he offered his arm to her as they walked along the pier.
"I'll even be nice and let you choose the movie!" he said as he playfully and gently nudged into her with his body.

Sari smirked as Duke offered to buy her cotton cand.y "Oh the royal treatment. I have to get you to skip work more often." She said with a devilish smile. She ate her cotton candy and even offered Duke some. "Let me know how it takes with the hot dog. I imagine it will be interesting." She laughed. Sari drank some water as they walked, "well if you really wanna know what I am going to wear, I could always give you a peek." She winked.
"Yes that's Bree. She is very sweet, although I am not really close friends with her, she is a sweetheart and you would like her since you're a big softy." Sari said joking. "I have a feeling if I showed up on your arm all eyes would be on you handsome." She said with a smile. This was a side of her she liked. The fun, flighty, side. The one that laughed and knew how to kick back and have fun. No pressure, not sex expectations. It was nice.
"Oh aren't you sweet.....I was going to pick the movie anyway." Sari said sticking her tongue out at Duke. She grabbed his hand and bumped him back, "I say you are on and we can have a contest, who can stay awake the longest. I am free this evening if you want. I could use a nice evening with the best guy in the world." If Tyler was more like Duke, perhaps she would not tease him, but there was no one like Duke.

Duke chuckled has she jokenly offered to show him a sneak peak of what she might wear to the pj party. And then when she mention if they were to show up together and all will be looking at him, he then thought about it and smirked. "Really they think I'm handsome in a monkey suit?!" he asked "I didn't know King Kong would be so attention grabbing!" he laughed jokeing, he felt really good with Sari, he felt comfortable really comfortable.
"Hmmm, I get a private showing huh?" He said as he rubbed his chin thinking about it. "Should I be prepare myself in case?!" he asked. As he took the offering of her cotton candy, and put the cotton stuff in his mouth and chewed it. "I shoud've gotten the blue one for fun!"he joked now realizing eating cotton candy stains teeth worse than slushies.
He smiled when she stuck her tongue out at him. He arches a brow at her with a smirk. "Sticking your tongue out like that means your inviting me for trouble!" he said and chuckled. "Oh I'm gonna make sure I make coffee then." he said as they contuined to walk on the sandy beach. "For you I'm always available to hang out." he said and shrugs when she also mention he is such a sweet heart. "Well only you know that and no one else will!" he nodded. "Your a sweet heart to me as well!" he said. "So what movie did you have in mind tonight?" He asked curious and open for it. "Got some coke in the fridge and popcorn." he offered to go with the movie night. "Yes if you asked later why I got beer in the fridge, my boss gave it to be as a bonus for working one of the holidays and told me to drink it well!" he said laughing. He wasn't sure if he should even have beer, in his apt right now after what he's been through.
But now he thought about it he probably won't bother with it he'll probably just give it away to some homeless guy that hangs around by the dumpster of his place. "Almost forgot, you'll get to see my cute Roomie!" he joked. He just adopted a small grey kitten in the begining of the year. "You'll love the little guy, he's small and cuddly and grey very soft and probably end up chewing on your hair if he gets too close!" he joked. "I adopted a stray kitten a while back, he's been a great company to me but haven't picked out a name for him yet!" he shrugged.

"Ohhh trouble...and just what kind of trouble and I inviting?" Sarissa asked flirtatiously. She smiled at Duke. "You have protection to go along with that trouble." She winked, knowing Duke would not take it seriously. That was normal joking between then but nothing would ever happen. At least Sarissa thought it wouldn't. In reality who knew what would happen.
"Well since I can pick I was thinking the notebook. Or maybe Titanic or some other cheesy chick flick that I plan to torture you with since you said I could pick." Sari said with a big fat smile. Sari liked chick flicks but not that much. She was more of a comedy, gore or action kind of gal.
"How about either something scary, or something that thinks its scary, but really its a poorly made horror movie and we can laugh at it all night....but we are having a movie marathon so there are plenty of movies to pick from." Sari said thinking of what she would want to see. "There is Saw, but might be a tad too gory for me, Twilight. I would love to make fun of the diamond like skin. Or we can go for classics. Interview with a Vampire, Bram stokers Dracula. Or we can go for action like Die hard, or comedy and go for Police Academy. I am not sure I can decide." She said laughing.
"Beer, Are you sure that is not your way of asking me to get drunk so you can take horrible advantage of me." Sari said with a smile. "Cause if so then I am so in for a night of fun and drinking. besides you got to live on the wildside...drink the beer....ignore the consious...."
Sari could not help but laugh, oh this would be a good night. "A grey kitten, awwww. Smokey...any grey cat must be named Smokey. I mean come on. Is it a boy or girl, cause I might use the the kitten to replace you in my heart." She said joking around.
