“Neither will my parents. I don’t think they would even notice one of us missing for the night, it’s not like the house would be any less noisy.” The house really was well packed after all, and even on a Saturday night, there would still be enough of the Zouvelekis’ family crammed in together to provide a distraction. Not that Dena needed one, she was sure her parents wouldn’t mind if she stayed over at Caitlin’s, even if they guessed that the two girls were dating now. Her sexuality hadn’t exactly been a secret, it was hard to keep anything a secret when your life was broadcast for entertainment purposes for years, especially if you had a habit of openly staring at pretty girls. Not that she minded, it did save her from the ‘big talk’ with her folks, and they seemed pretty cool about it, everyone in her family did.
So, a sleepover, combined with dress-ups, made for a highlight of the weekend. And it was already going to be a great weekend to begin with, but spending the night with her girlfriend, even when it would be a largely innocent night spent together, easily beat rocking up at bowling dressed as Yuna, regardless how much fun that was going to be. “I’ll check with them, just in case, but I’ll be all yours.” she promised cheerily.
When you saw someone skip, it was impossible to resist, so Dena quickly found herself skipping too. “I’ve got a heap of quarters still left over.” she nodded, trying her hardest to keep a smile from her face when Caitlin took the bag off her. She stayed quiet up until the other girl wrapped her arms around her. “Well, I won’t argue.” she giggled, excited that she thought to buy it. She pulled away just enough to press a quick peck on her lips, stoping only at the sound of a wolf whistle behind them.
Turning to find those responsible, she stuck her tongue out at the few boys who were around their age, before taking Caitlin’s free hand and leading her towards the arcade this time. “How bout best out of three on Dance Dance Revolution?”
