As far back as Greg could remember, his mother always bought items for he and Sandy every Valentine's day. It had started small, a stuffed animal and candy and it ballooned every year. This year she really out did herself. She had gotten Greg a complete outfit complete with a Ralph Loren red silk shirt, black dress pants, dress socks and a tie with light red candy cane style stripes on it. He looked good in it, so good that he wore the ensemable to school the next day.
People weren't used to seeing Greg dressed up like this. He really fit the celeb mode looking like this, and with the avaitor sunglasses he needed to be on the red carpet or part of the mafia.
He removed his sunglasses, and tucked them into the top of his shirt as he opened his locker. He felt like he was being watched, not in the creepy stalker way but in that teenage "I wanna be you" way. He knew not to panic but slowly turned around. He put on his best face, "Can I assist you some how?" He asked in a friendly but slight questioning tone.

Ashley had been walking through the school to get his things from his locker, he had been having a good day until he saw a guy about ten feet in front of him drop his mobile phone, on closer inspection he recognised him from the TV some soap his mother probably watched to much of.
Ashley bent over and retrieved the phone before heading the boys way to return it, when he had stopped in front of the locker Ashley made his move and approached which was when things got rude.
"Can I assist you some how?" the other guy had said after the looks he was getting Ashley couldn't really blame the boy for the hostility.
"You dropped this a couple of halls ago, its taken me this long to catch up to you." Ashley said to the boy handing him back his mobile phone. "You should be more careful, you would not like any of your fans to use it for nefarious phone calls, just imagine the phone bill on that, then they'd leak it to the press and wham bam strawberry jam you have a scandal on your hands." Ashley said to him with a chuckle. "Look dude I couldn't care less who you are, what you do or why, I just came to give you your phone back." Ashley said to him.
He didn't point out like he wanted to that the world didn't evolve around the boy, which had been tempting, he was in a better mood, he had managed to get some sleep the night before which was a good thing or he'd be drinking more and more coffee today.

Greg checked his pockets and sure enough he had dropped his phone, karma had paid off in a positive way, after returning a phone to the kid from Gould recently. "Thanks, I appreciate it." He offered his hand as he took his phone back from him.
"Sorry about the paranoia, I wasn't sure just who I'd be turning around to see. I'm glad to know it was someone who is honest." The teen looked familiar to Greg, he wasn't a hundred percent how, did they have a class together?
The words from Ashely's mouth were like music to Greg's ears. "You have no idea how much that means to me, and I'm not being sarcastic! Its one less wall to hide behind and its tough enough as it is." He put his phone into his shirt pocket, knowing it would be safe there.
"I had no idea how hard it was going to be to try and be like a regular kid after being seeing god knows how many homes five days a week." He sighed, he had rambled on too much. "Sorry, sometimes I have to vent like that." He smiled a friendly smile.

Ashley nodded accepting the boys apology, "Its fine believe it or not I get the need to protect privacy, and have your own space." Ashley said to him with a smile. "I don't imagine that being around people who hunt autographs is a lot of fun for you." Ashley said to him. "Well maybe sometimes, say when its a hot chick who's chasing you down." Ashley said to him.
"Anyway, just wanted to give you your phone." Ashley said to him. "Good suit, you may want to find a different tie though." Ashley said to him. "If I were you though, I'd stop worrying about what every body in this school is doing, and thinking about you, life is way to short to be worrying about things like that." Ashley said to him. "Well maybe with fame you should worry a little, but if its making you paranoid, you need to take a step back." Ashley said to him.
He turned to walk to his locker not far from where he stood, "You seem like a cool dude anyway, we have enough paranoid stars in hollywood today, why turn out more." Ashley said to him.

Greg laughed. "Most of the time its not so bad, like you said its some hot girl or if its someone who is a real collector but there are those who get persistant, like someone's mother or someone who claims to be some weird distant relative." Greg had heard it all since first arriving on television.
"I suppose your right, the tie is a bit much. I feel like I should have the pimp hat to go with the whole thing, that'd spin people's heads." Who knew, it might even keep the seekers at bay as well. "I don't tell just anybody, but you seem trust worthy." Kirt had that trust before, but that he had gone Greg wasn't sure if he could still be trusted.
Stepping back, that would mean leaving the school and being back on television and now that he was known in school, how akward would that make things with the people he had befriended along the way? Still, Ashley's words were true, there was too much paranoia in the 'biz' these days. He leaned on his locker. "I like what you said, I never had thought about it before."

Ashley smiled at this, "It takes for someone to kick you up the backside sometimes, to realize what your doing may not necessarily be a good idea." Ashley said to him. "I learned that lesson only after I had made a huge mistake in my life, by that time it was to late to do anything to change what I had done." Ashley said to him sadly.
"Just think in twenty years ago one of the people snapping your photo in that suit, will be laughing their backsides of at your fashion sense, or your kids many years from now." Ashley said to him as he took his book bag out of his own locker. "I am dreading when I go from being the cool dad to being the sad dad, cheering on the side lines while Kai does whatever his good at." Ashley said shutting his locker.
"So let me ask you something, is acting something you want to stay in, or is it something you think your leave behind for something else when your out of school. A child star who finds something else, or a child actor that goes on to bigger and better things... can they get bigger in acting... well I suppose you have the oscars... kind of like fooballers have the super bowl, or writers have the pullitzer." Ashley said to him with a smile.

"I guess I had it easy I mean my folks never really pushed me one way or the other. It was always my decision as to what I wanted to do. I've heard the stories about stage parents and the hell kids go through just to please them. I haven't had any major regrets about what I've done."
"Twenty years? You give it that long?" Greg laughed. "I give it five minutes knowing society today." He gathered his things for class. "Every generation has the fashion flubs, the 70's are a perfect example of that! 80's parachute pants and mullets I could go on if you want me to."
Greg had to think about this. "I really don't know. I mean its what I know, its how I grew up." Greg knew there could be other vocations for him but why do that when you had one before you the whole time. "I could go on to movies first as a star then do the whole behind the scenes thing. I guess as long as I can keep doing what I'm doing I'll stay with it." Sure he thought he could take over the pizza business but that would probably fall to his sister, who knew a way around a kitchen.
