Morning Joy (Jade, Open tag, Jere)

Jade took his usual route to school, his glasses firmly in place as he drove, the music blaring out of the windows, no doubt annoying his neighbours and parents, Jade was in the mood for some fast music and heavy rock stuff, which seemed to send the street into a vibrating mess.

Dogs barked away as the noise music continued which of course he was oblivious of, the traffic was pretty light on the ground as he drove through the early morning streets. His hand tapping on the wheel to every beat, the car was rocking as he parked in the school lot, it was not as busy as it usually was when he got there, normally about twenty minutes before class.

This morning he had nearly an hour of time to kill, enough to have a decent breakfast and a quick check of the pool before practice that evening, he had his contacts in his bag for that, but had been told to rest his eyes by his parents.

He opened his car door taking his hot chocolate with him, determined to enjoy a few more minutes of peace before he returned to the madeness which was silver high, he had his eyes open for Jeremy, though he suspected that he might get approached by the twin sister, after last night anyway, he thought to himself.

Jeremy was walking on cloud nine that morning. His date with Jade the night before ran smoothly and he wasn't a bad kisser either! He started down the hall and saw the announcement for 'South Pacific' as long as there was a decent dance role, he'd try for it.

He continued down the hall saying hi to various people he knew and some he didn't till he reached his locker, Julia didn't seem to be at her's yet, still he hadn't noticed if she had left before he did or not his mind still on Jade.

He hummed a little tune as he prepped for the first couple hours of school then he'd be back, no sense in weighing himself down with every book for the day. He closed his locker door and had a few minutes to get something from the vending machine. He started to walk away when caught a glimpse of Jade, he couldn't resisit going up to him.

He rested his head on Jade's shoulder, "So any big plans going on for us tonight ?" He did fight the urge to wrap his arms around the boy and squeeze him like a teddy bear. If only Julia could see him now, what would she say?

Jade turned to him and smiled, "Oh nowt much, my father saw us last night, god knows how, he doesn't usually go into that part of town, which suggests that one of his watch dogs followed us out last night." Jade said mildly annoyed. "Either that or it was just a coincidence." Jade added. "And with my father I don't believe in coincidence." Jade said to him.

"Not that he caused to much in the way of trouble last night, he wasn't happy that I didn't tell them about my date." Jade said shaking his head. "Anyway your presence is requested tonight for dinner, you may bring a guest, so if your sister was to come along for moral support she would be most welcome." Jade said to him before kissing him lightly. "As I mentioned last night, my father is trying to be a father again, he goes through fads so does mom, but dad is worse." Jade said. "They have great hearts, and I love them to pieces but I could strangle them at times." Jade said to him.

"If your up for a meeting with the eccentric people that I call parents, seven o'clock, dress smart, my father doesn't take anyone seriously if they don't dress the part. If your not interested in the third degree I can make a good excuse up." Jade said to him with a grin on his face and leant forward brushing his lips against Jeremy's. "Or we could skip dinner with my parents, catch a movie get some dinner elsewhere and not worry at all about what they'll say to me later." Jade said to him. "Either plan is good to me." Jade added watching people behind Jeremy out of caution, he had just done something dumb by kissing his boyfriend at his locker.

If that is what it was between them.

The party had been a rousing success, at least as far as Julia was concerned. Sure, it was a little disappointing that Travis had to leave early, but Kai was adorable and she'd got to meet and hang out with interesting and fun people. She really hoped that they would want to hang out more -- especially Izzy and Eden, because as much as she loved both Jere and Connor, she longed for female companionship. Preferably female companionship that was not entirely obsessed with status and appearance. Sure, she liked to look cute, but there were other factors to consider.

The best part of being back at Silver, of course, was that her locker was one over from Jere's. That one guy, the one everyone was scared of, was between them, but she had never had any reason to interact with him. She was kind of glad about that, too. She skipped over to her locker, peasant skirt twirling around her jeans -- some people may have considered jeans under a skirt odd, but she thought it was a perfectly legitimate fashion choice -- and halted. She had never paid much attention to the guy whose locker was opposite hers, but she definitely was staring now. Did he....did he just KISS her brother?

Now, that was not something she had expected, that Jeremy was gay, but now that she was confronted with the possibility it made sense. And it explained his mysterious behavior all month, and his mysterious plans last night. It was also terribly anti-climactic, after all the worrying she had done. She couldn't decide if she were annoyed with him for not telling her, or annoyed with herself for not noticing.

"And here I thought you had got into drugs or something." She shook her head, punching her brother in the arm in greeting. "And you're off having fun. I'm withholding cookies until I get an introduction."

The idea of someone like Jade's father didn't even tap dance into Jeremy's mind until the subject was brought up. He had a feeling Jade's father had been tipped off by someone who had answered the door but as long as Jade was fine and uninjured, he wouldn't investigate anything.

"I'll be there, I think I can handle your father. I'll just keep the culture flow going." Hearing that mom was a concert pianist usually won people over in the first couple of minutes and dad writing for television had the wanna be stars lining up anixious to see if there would be a part for them, even thought that was out of Richard Warner's hands.

Jeremy grinned. "I like that idea even more, just you, me and the moon." It was refreshing that Jade was a romantic and not one of those ready to jump into bed right away, well at least not on a first date, second one maybe.

The mood was ruined by a punch to the arm, he was about to tell who ever it was where they could go but then smiled when he saw Julia. "Jade, this is my shadow also know as my sister Julia. Julia, this is Jade."

Jade smiled at the girl, "Hi, I'm Jade but Jere told you that already." Jade said with a bright smile as he turned slightly so he could engage her in speech and see her better. "Well now I know who the dominant twin is." Jade said mischivously to them. "I've heard some good things about you, well all good things about you actually." Jade said his nerves intensifying his accent.

"We were just discussing how to get out of a family dinner I have been ordered to invite Jeremy to." Jade said to the girl. "My parents tend to get what they want, so even if we avoid this one, at some point over the next week or so they'll invite again, or they'll just turn up somewhere sit down and ask me to explain why I am avoiding the subject of a new boyfriend." Jade said to them. "Like I said my father is trying to be a father this week." Jade explained to Jeremy as he took a gulp of his drink. "I usually have coffee, but well its hot chocolate, comfort drink... well not quite that bad... but it does taste great." Jade said to them.

Jade. Just Jade. Not, this is my boyfriend Jade. But they were kissing! And Jere did not seem to mind! So...something was up. Maybe just casual dating? Did people still do that anymore? She wasn't sure.

"I'm not your shadow," She protested, glaring up at her twin, tempted to smack him again simply for not realizing that she was being serious when she said she had worried, maybe a little more than was necessary, in fact. But she had been entirely unsure what to make of his behavior lately, so she had come up with all sorts of very bad explanations. It was good to know they were all untrue, but she was still annoyed he hadn't come clean so she wouldn't have to wonder.

"Good to know Jere's lying to you already," She grinned when Jade assured her he had only been told good things about her. His accent was very familiar, and it took her a moment to place where she had heard it before. "Are you Irish?" She asked, once she realized how very like Connor he sounded. "Do we have a magnet? Or some sort of latent super power that runs in our family, The Warners! They can find all gay Irish men within a twenty mile radius." She twisted to look behind her, as if maybe she would be able to see a magnet there or maybe another Irish guy.

Then Jade said it. Boyfriend. So why had Jere not introduced him as such? She was trying ot read between the lines, figure out just how much he hadn't told her. "Boyfriend, huh? And how long has this been going on?" She demanded, "Is this why you've been so aloof all month? When were you planning on telling me?" She poked him in the chest, "You and Jade go have fun with his family, don't you even think of skipping out. Then the two of you have to have dinner with me." She had to screen this Jade guy, after all, make sure he was worthy.

Jade chuckled, "Its just one date at the moment, a date that was witnessed either by my father, which is highly unlikely, or by someone who is on my families bank roll, which dwindles it down to about... actually it does nothing to help tell me who saw us having pizza last night." Jade said shaking his head as Alex approached with Sarah. "Oh hey Al, Julia, this is my twin brother and his girlfriend, Alex and Sarah." Jade introduced them.

"Not that I don't want more than one date because I do, but its a little early to be throwing boyfriend around, maybe after another date assuming we survive dinner." Jade said with a reassuring smile.

"What's this I was seen kissing a guy in the hall way?" Alex asked with a smile to Jade. 'You sure about him?' was signed to Jade who gave a small nod.

"We are with three people who don't sign Alex." Jade reminded him.

"It gets annoying when they do that, and if they want a private conversation under the one they are having, that is how they do it." Sarah said to them cuffing Alex lightly around the head. "You have no idea how much that annoys people." she added.

"He does, thats why he does it." Jade said to her she smiled at this. "There are two of us, so I wouldn't get to confused if you see one of us kissing a girl." Jade said to Julia.

"I am not just a girl." Sarah said to him with a pout.

"Ah but you are a girl." Jade said to her with a grin.

"I don't mean any offence to you Jeremy, but why now?" Alex asked him.

"Why now what?" Jade asked.

"Why now be more open about... oh hell you know what I am talking about." Alex said to him.

"I do, I just wanted to hear you say it... and to answer your question why not now." Jade said to him. "You've never had issue with it before." Jade said to him.

"No I usually pick up the pieces." Alex said to him.

"Alex, Michael was a twat and we both know it, now the one date and the month I have known Jeremy, he hasn't used me once to get what he wants. I am not the walk over you think I am." Jade said to him with a growl. "I'm not about to propose after one date dude, so seriously just give what ever this is a chance before you start battering suitors." Jade said politely his hand travelled to Jeremy's.

He hated to fight with his twin, even when he knew that his twin was trying to stop him getting hurt, but just once it would be nice not to have his decisions questioned by the entire family.

Not that it was something that hadn't happened every time he met someone new, his family was incredibly over protective of him, and while that was nice when he was twelve it was just plain annoying when he was seventeen and able to tell the difference between good and bad.

Jeremy tried to looked shocked. "Me? Lie? Why I never! I only say bad things about you on days that end in Y." He tease Julia again, although she'd find some way of getting even.

"Fine we can be the Wonder twins but I'm doing more than forming to various forms of water." He playfully scolded her. He wasn't aware of another Irish man near by, unless she meant Jade's brother but his gaydar hadn't detected any signs of gayness in him, other than the usual being a twin and as cute as his brother.

Julia had become the Spanish Inquizition, which nobody expected! "I was going to say something I just didn't know how serious it was going to be with us but it looks like I'm safe now. We met the day of the campout, we even had breakfast that morning." She could poke hard when she wanted too. "Ok, ok, I'll go do dinner with the folks tonight, I can bring a lifeline too, if your interested in joining us." If things became a disaster, she's have pleanty to tease him with.

He was amsued with the two arguing until the surliness reared its ugly head and the name Michael was metioned. "Hold on, time out, who's Michael? Do I need to go and be all protective of Jade now?" No one was going to even try and lay a finger on Jade.

Jade smiled at the dancer, "His not an issue, Michael is my ex boyfriend, someone who I have tried hard to forget, controlling doesn't quite cover what he tried to be." Jade said to the boy. "If their is one thing I don't do, its control freaks, I have a father for that." Jade said to him with a grin.

"Just be yourself and your survive dinner, and like Jeremy said the invitation was extended to a plus one." Jade said to Julia. "We both have training tonight so, dinner is later than usual about seven." Jade said to him. "We have training pretty much every day, but its team training tonight so I actually have to be there." Jade said to them. "I need to know if your allergic to anything or you dislike anything, so the cook can avoid cooking it." Jade said to him.

"Jade you worry to much." Sarah said.

"I know my father." Jade said to her.

"His not that bad." Sarah said.

"I suppose not." Jade said to her with a small smile.

"Your just overly sensitive to him and his approval of you." Alex said to him. "You have been since you told them that you were gay." Alex added Jade glared at him for making him seem more vulnerable to opinion than he really wanted to be seen as.
