Laying on the Beach (Alex Attn Ashley, Anyone)

"Lock him up...I do not think Kai would stay locked up. No doubt he would find a way out of the room. He is rather smart. He knows that one look from him, and I will let him out of a locked room. Isn't that right Kai?" Alex cooed and Kai just laughed, smiled and shook his head yes.

"Mommy always falls for a smile." Kai said to Ashley as the little boy looked up to his dads face while on his dads lap.

Alex just laughed and ruffled Kai's hair for a moment. Such a cute kid. Every time he was cute Alex realized just how much time she missed with Kai. She never got to hear his first word, first steps, first full sentence. Sure at the time she thought she was doing the right thing, but now. After looking back on it, Alex could not have been more stupid that day. There really was no reason to dwell on the past. Things were different now. She was back and that's all that mattered.

"A weekend oh that shall be fun. I will have to find things for us to do, if I can ever drag him away from the park. Would you object if I invited Gregory along for an afternoon with Kai and I?" Alex wanted to make sure Ashley had no objections to other guys being around Kai. "besides you Ashely, Gregory is the only other student I really have gotten to know." Alex meant nothing by it. Greg really was just a friend, at this point.

Ashley took a little while to answer the question, he didn't know what to say to Greg being involved in a day out with Alex and Kai, he liked Greg so why did he feel like it was something he should be the one with Alex. He had made the choice to hide his feelings from Alex, so he didn't really have a right to be aggitated by the idea that she might want to date Greg.

"Sure, I like Greg. I'm not sure his ready to deal with a two year old, so you may want to have ice and bath salts on stand by for him by the end of it." Ashley said to her. "I think your in for a shock, having him for a few hours in the afternoon is nothing compared to the madness that comes with the devil child of a night." Ashley said this with affection. "As he tested you while your out with him yet?" Ashley asked, he knew that Alex had been very happy with him, from what he had heard. But he also knew just how much of a handful Kai could be at two. "Don't let him get away with murder, I'll sort out his night light and bear, you won't get him to sleep without them." Ashley said Kai turned his head and glared at his father. "It took me six months to get him to give up the dummy." Ashley said this time Kai huffed. "He hasn't forgiven me for that quite yet either." Ashley added.

Alex did not notice it took Ashely a long time to reply to her question about Gregory. She was too busy distracting herself with Kai. In a way she felt she was betraying Ashley, by thinking of Gregory. But was it really betrayal if Ashely did not like her...didn't she have a right to move on. Yet something was holding her back from moving on completely. Perhaps it was that deep down Alex hoped she still had a chance with Ashley and although she did mentally tell herself she needed to move on. She had yet to actually believe it. Ashley had given her no indication that he liked her, but he also gave no indication that he did not have feelings for her. It was all so confusing.

"Splendid. I will make sure and warn Greg what he is in for that afternoon. Kai has attempted to push limits and even though I admit I have given in a few times..." Alex said looking at Kai as Kai gave her a big grin while looking at her and then his dad, "I stood my ground a few times, much to Kai's dismay." Alex assured Ashley. "Promise me you will be by the phone in case I do need help in getting him to sleep. I just may need your help that night." Alex said with a smile playfully tugging at the sides of her mouth.

"Do not worry Kai, I use to have a monkey. I still have the monkey. Just ask your father. I use to try and hide the monkey when he would come over to pay me a visit. He caught me once..." Alex said laughing as she tickled Kai a little. "I am sure we will have plenty of fun when we have this weekend...right Kai....and Ashely you are more then welcome to join Kai and I anytime. We often talk about you, among other things..." Alex told him.
