Dinner was again very successful and as they walked to Sloane's car, she took note of how May's little moves showed how uneasy she was. But in a good way, Sloane had to admit. She was nervous in a way anyone who was new to dating always was and Sloane found it endearing that May was already sixteen years old yet she was just experiencing the 'second date jitters'. Although May didn't really have to be since she could have the pick of any girl who was even remotely inclined to their own sex. Any girl would be glad to have such an arm candy.
The hair play was probably innocent on May's part but Sloane saw it as a tease. Not a bad one, honestly. Just something enticing, like the other girl was inviting her in on something. She looked away but slipped her hand discretely into May's before crossing the road to the parking lot her car was in. It was dim with only three central lights illuminating the football stadium sized parking lot. There weren't many people around and it felt like they were the only two people right then.
Sloane didn't let go of May's hand as she fished her pocket for her car keys. When May basically told her that she wanted to see Sloane again, the redhead looked at the other girl with an undecipherable smile. The invite to the Edwards' party on Sunday surprised Sloane though and reminded her of Bree's brunch on Saturday. Nolan and her were supposed to go to that together. And she wouldn't have any excuse to give either one since if she arrived with Nolan, May was definitely going to see them and wonder what the hell was going on.
Unless May could be convinced to not be ready to be seen with Sloane and the redhead could manipulate her into thinking that since May was still not ready, Sloane should keep up appearances with Nolan. But then...that plan might backfire if May saw the flaws in it. And there were many potholes in the plan already.
Shaking her head slightly, she focused her attention back on her date. "We still have Bree's brunch to attend and that's on Saturday. May, are you sure you're ready to be seen in public with me? Have you told anyone at all about your preferences? I don't want you to come out like that and get bombarded especially since they're huge social events..." She was drawing on straws just now.
