Ashley smiled sadly at her, "I got my first child support cheque today, and a letter, knowing that someone isn't coming back is different to being told that person isn't coming back, by that person themselves." Ashley said to him with a smile on his face that was betrayed by the pain in his voice. "I always hoped that he would be enough to bring her back, instead I get an insult and a cheque deal which I can't afford to turn down." Ashley said to her. "I guess being a single father is a lot harder some days than it is others." Ashley said to her. "I'm trying to not let it get to me, but if you can tell I'm having a hard time of it, I'm obviously not succeeding." Ashley added.
"You on the other hand Wynn, may need to run for the hills, my son is going to be after more of those if your not careful..." Ashley said taking a chunk out of the cookie in his hand.
"I am so glad I only gave him one of these, he would be bouncing of the walls all night and in pain to boot, these are sinfully good." Ashley said to Julia.

Travis sighed in frustration as he drove down the street, he felt bad for being late but he hoped his new friends would forgive him. He had to do a little bit of work today after lunch at the hospital. Once he manage to find the right house he parked his car across the street.
He sighed and gotten out of his car and walked up to the house. He brushed back his dark locks from his blue eyes. He then reached out and rang the door bell. He stood there for a moment thinking. He hoped he wasn't too late but then again his job could have kept him to the point of not showing up at all. After a couple of minutes passed no answer. Travis sighed and turned around and was ready to head back to his car, till heard the door swing open. Travis quickly spun on his heel to look at the familiar face.
"Oh H'allo!" he said in his usual accent. "Sorrie for being late, I was busy with work at the hospital!" he explained. "I hope I'm not too late!" he said nodding letting his friend know he really did all he could do to get here as soon as he could to join the fun.

From about 4 to off the scale, Wynn's ego rose to unbeleiveable heights. "Well, thanks." He wasn't sure what else to say at first. "Sure I keep everything I work on, something I picked up from my dad." He had two pads, one was notebook sized the other just slightly larger, he took the notebook sized one out, the one that had the drawing of himself, Haley and Cam from days of old.
"I guess it sort of runs in the family, my dad umm is an animator for Disney." He wasn't ashamed of what he did but Wynn wasn't sure how well it would go over or if it would bring unwelcomed publicity. He handed the book to Izzy since she was the closest. He would get everyone taken care of.
He addressed Ashely first. "I don't mind drawing for people, especially young one's like that. I just can't mass produce like some people can." He could sense that something was wrong and not calm on the western front, however, he knew it wasn't his business.
Next was Sunar. "I haven't tried digital yet, I'm curious to see how things turn out though." He listened as Sunar talked about pretending to draw. "Anyone can do it, main thing is to focus on what you want to bring alive on paper." But at least there was someone who had the art flair to them as well. "I use what ever, it might sound funny I mainly use the Crayola brand items mainly because I know I can find them just about anywhere I go but for fine lines, Sharpies, I live and breath by them."
Cookies had come up and Wynn was eager. He took one and sighed deeply. "They smelled good while baking, I just didn't know how good."

"Name's Sunar Chugani," Sunar introduced himself, as it seemed it was requested. "Great to meet you...Ashley OR Will? You have split personalities? Or people just can't agree on who you are?" He joked. Some people had multiple nicknames, but usually they just stuck to one when they introduced themselves. He didn't have any nicknames, at least, not that he knew of. Maybe he could borrow one from Ashley.
"Crayola." He laughed. Such an ubiquitious brand, yet one that very few people he knew actually swore by. "Pencil-wise I'm big on Staedtler." He offered, as though Wynn had asked. "Markers, though, gotta go with Copic. I know, so original, right? But their multiliners...and the double-tipped sketch markers....and the colors. So.many.colors." He sort of drifted off, contemplating how much fun it was to use all those colors.
"Oh. Right. Umm, you should try digital sometime, paintchat is super fun. More fun if you have a tablet, though. I have to say, I totally suck with the mouse. Some people are so good at it, though, drawing with a mouse, I mean, I don't understand." He laughed, "Especially the ones who do these amazing ridiculous complicated pics in oekaki, and it's just like...dude, I am not that good with all complicated tools, but take away my ability to do layers and it's just....not a good thing. I'm addicted to paint chat and tegaki anyway, though, I guess if you don't do digital art you don't have a Tegaki account, then. You do have DevArt, though, right?"
Everyone had a Deviant Art account: not just animators and illustrators and painters, but poets and photographers. He was always a little amazed when an artist admitted to not having DevArt, especially when they were talented -- or actually maintained their own online gallery. "Scans are never as good, I know, actually, that's another reason to go digital, no worries about the colors washing out or all the erasure marks showing."
He paused his sermon on the virtues of digital illustrating in order to snag a cookie off Julia's platter. "Mmmshgood." He sighed in rapture. He wasn't sure he was going to bring any home for Daja, because there probably would not be any left over at the end of the night for him to take. But it was her fault, for not coming with him. If she had really wanted cookies, then she would have come, too.

"Aww, that's rough, I'm sorry to hear that." She frowned in sympathy. Poor Ashley. "Don't think about her, then. Think about....cookies. and Kai. And friends. This does make us friends, right, hanging out after school eating cookies?" Sure, they had only met that morning, but she had already decided that she wanted to be friends with the boy. Maybe part of it was pity, that he had to struggle with a toddler and without the woman he so clearly loved. It was tragic. But even beyond the pity, he was easy to get along with. Maybe having a child so young had contributed, but he was certainly more mature than most of their peers.
"I'm glad you like them." She beamed at Ashley, "Better watch out, or we're going to be bouncing off the walls all night," She laughed. She would have stayed to chat but then the door bell rang out. She looked at the host. Couldn't be a delivery, not at this time of evening. She wondered if it were the last of their party finally making their way. "I'll get it," She decided after a moment of wrestling with herself over whether that was really what she wanted to do. No, it really wasn't, it could be a neigbor or parent, which would be entirely uncomfortable, but then on the other hand it could be her remaining guest, and she should be the one to answer, not the father looking after his ill child.
She swung the door open to see a retreating Travis. "Don't be sorry! We're just glad you came!" At least, she was glad he had come. She couldn't really speak for the rest of the party, but she assumed they would be glad, too. Even though none of them really knew Travis, but most of the attendees were strangers to one another, that was sort of the point, meeting new people and making new friends. And so far, she had not been disappointed. Everyone seemed really cool! Not that she should have been surprised, about half the guests were friends of Connor, and anyone Connor was friends with had to be awesome -- in her entirely unbiased opinion.
"Come in, we're just getting started!" She held the door open, ushering the older boy inside. "There are even cookies left. Or there were last I checked, you'd better get in quick if you want to get one."
She closed the door behind him, then motioned to the living room, "Hey, guys, Travis didn't get eaten by Zombies after all." She held a hand out to Connor, "You owe me." She told him, which was...really ridiculous, as they hadn't had any sort of bet on. She was just feeling silly and hyper, it probably had something to do with all the cookie dough, she decided. Or all the socializing she didn't normally do.

Connor had to admit, this was a pretty good way to spend Valentine’s Day, having a ‘cookie party’ with both friends and almost complete strangers alike. And even with Wynn around, Julia seemed in high spirits, the whole Haley business seemingly far from her mind. Though if he needed to, Connor was more than prepared to borrow Jeremy’s move and punch Wynn. Even if Julia didn’t seem to think him much of a fighter. Which, to be honest, was completely true, he’d never been in a fight in his life, nor really wanted to. But, after witnessing the hit Wynn gave Cam at lunch, Connor thought he had a chance against him, if it got to that. Wynn did seem alright though, which was annoying as Connor had planned on hating him straight off the bat for the way he treated Julia.
It seemed like it was a good plan, getting Izzy, Ben, Eden and Sunar to tag along, he hadn’t hung out with any of them much, so it was good to get to know them more now. Besides, he would have felt a bit of the odd one out otherwise.
“Hey, don’t go eating all the cookies on me.” he laughed, leaning past Wynn to grab a cookie from Julia. Biting into it, a grin crossed his face as the sugary treat disappeared in a moment of seconds. “Yep, that’s good. Really good. Only thing that could make that better is ice cream.” Connor decided, wiping the crumbs from his lips. “I really excel myself there.” Noticing Julia’s expression, he could help but burst out laughing. “Alright, alright, maybe you helped to. But don’t forget, I am the one who supervised after all, that’s a very important job.”
Giving a quick wave at Travis came in, Connor smirked at Julia’s comment, on him owing her. “You kidding? I owe you? Think it’s the other way around. I mean, you do get the pleasure of my company for the night. That is a pretty big deal.” he teased. “But alright, I owe you. Okay, on the weekend then, why don’t you and I indulge in some orc bashing? You’ll make me cool yet, I just know it.”

Travis smiled to Julia and nodded to her as he followed her in. He looked around at every one who all seem to get ready to have some fun. "Thank you" he said again to Julia. "Yeah I had a hell of a time fighting off those flesh eating buggers!" he kid along with her comment. He greeted everyone who was there at the party.
Travis smiled and was getting ready to settle in on the fun, till suddenly his phone started to buzz like crazy. Travis rolled his eyes and sighed in disappointment. He thought it was the hospital asking him back. He pulled his phone up and suddenly furrowed his brow confusedly. "What the bloody hell?" he muttered noticing it was Renton's number and next to it added 911. Travis flipped the phone open to read the message.
Travis, please come help, I have injured friends in riverside, one is out cold the other may be in shocked and may have been raped please come ASAP!!!
Travis snapped the phone shut and sighed wary. "Ah Looks like im gonna have to bail out now, I have an emergancy in Riverside, and I have to go now!" he said urgently but calmly at the same time. "I might have to take a range check on this, again I very sorry about this!" he said and then he took off. Once he got out he hurried to his got and gotten in. Started up his car and no sooner did he step on the gas and sped off down the road with squealing tires riding into the black cement of the road finally he was long gone before a blink of an eye.
a wrap for Travis.

Izzy took the notebook and swiped a cookie. She looked through the book, "This is amazing. I wish i could draw like this. Sadly my art work lies with words. I am the advice columnist for the school paper." Its not like it was a secret, but not many people knew it either. "You would not believe some of the emails I get." She admitted. They were private, but some of them, were just plain crazy.
She continued to look through the book and then handed it off to Ben. "He does animation for Disney....like what movies has he done?" Izzy was very curious. She nibbled on her cookie. She looked back at Ben and Eden. "You guys want a cookie?" She offered.
She looked at Sunar, "Digital...that like with computers right...I know I sound like an idiot. The only thing I use a computer for is to write my column." She laughed. Izzy was okay admitting when she sounded like a dork, "So what do you all like to do for fun?"
It was great hanging with so many people. No Gould vs. Silver. Jett would not doubt turn it into that. Which is why she did not invite him. He would just be cocky and probably try messing with Eden again.

"Wow, now its a real test for my memory!" Wynn laughed. It wasn't often he mentioned what his father did but the group seemed to be interested. "The first thing I really remember him working on was Lion King, his main job there was the background animals like in the Circle of Life number and I Just Can't Wait To Be King. I've got a couple of the cells that were used for the movie hanging up in my room."
"His favorite and mine though that he worked on was 'Lilo and Stitch'. He got the job of working on Stitch. You'd be amazed at how much work goes into an animated ninety minute movie. Thankfully they have small crews working on the main characters." He took a bite of his cookie. "Now that the trailer is out I can talk about the new movie. It's a version of 'Frong Prince' that takes place in New Orleans during the jazz age, just the idea of the music has me excited to see it even though I can get all the behind the scenes stuff!" He felt like a little kid carrying on like he was but this meant a lot to him.

" If I were you, I'd give up on your dream of solitaire championships and just go straight for bakery supervising." She rolled her eyes at Connor, but couldn't help but grinning at the boy. "Of course it's important, why else would managers get paid so much?" She agreed. "Reading the instructions and licking spoons, that is hard work right there." Of course, she thought Connor's interpretation of the instructions was pretty hilarious, and he had maybe been slightly more helpful than she was currently giving him credit for; if she'd thought it was important to him, she would have admitted she was just glad he had come.
"Right, what makes you think I want your company?" She stuck her tongue out at the Irish boy. "I'm the cool one, remember? You're just lucky I....Oohhhhh, Orc bashing!" Brown eyes sparkled at the thought of coaching her friend in one of her favorite activities. "I'm so in! You won't regret it, we'll roll up the coolest characters ever. If we can get you to level ten, then we can do some Freeps versus Creeps. Need to do some more minstrel slayage on my spider...." She reflected.
The brunette girl frowned in dismay as Travis had to turn right back around and leave. "Okay, well, take some cookies anyway," She insisted. "See you at school tomorrow?"
She looked over Izzie's shoulders at Wynn's notebook. He was talented, that was for sure. "Giving advice sounds hard," She told the Korean-American girl, "I'm not sure I would want people to follow my advice. I'd probably tell them to do whatever they wanted, not helpful at all." She laughed. "I like to read, play video games, play my violin. You know, cool stuff. What about you guys?" She asked, addressing this to all the Gould students.
