Zach wasn't sure about a jacket, he couldn't imagine how it would look. "Maybe we could go to the fabric store sometime and look at patterns. I am not good at imaging clothing. I am better with combining tastes," he admitted. He was glad he didn't want to be a designer. That would never work.
"Well there is the electric grill, I know it wouldn't be the same as a charcoal grill but they have that liquid smoke stuff that we could brush onto the meat that would give some of that flavor. We could make potato salad and coleslaw... maybe some chili. Or we could go Tex Mex which doesn't need a grill," Zach suggested, thinking either would be really delicious. "Ribs sound wonderful though. I have only had them at a restaurant."
Zach continued by putting the beef in a pan with oil to brown it along with the onions and mushrooms while he cut carrots into a julienne. The kitchen was beginning to smell very enticing. Once they were browned he put them into a Dutch oven and added the carrots and some cooking wine.

"Yeah, sure," Natalie said. "I can give you my number if you want and we can meet up some time and go." Sewing and making clothes was by no means Natalie's passion, but she still enjoyed it and was good at it. Her passion was music of course, but still, Zach was helping her with cooking so she could certainly help him pick out a sewing project. Especially since he seemed a little reluctant about the jacket idea. She was sure she could help him find something. She didn't really use patterns. She'd learned to sew without them, which she preferred because it made her things more unique.
"Oh is there?" Natalie asked about the electric grill. "I didn't even know we had one here," she admitted but then again she was still somewhat new to school. "But we do have awhile before the next menu, so we have time to decide what would be best," she added as she finished off slicing the apples. "What should I do with these now?" she asked as she pushed them all together in the pile. "Oh ribs are my favorite. And they're super easy to make...they just take time. I can show you how if you want...even if we do something else for the next project," she offered. After all, Zach seemed really into cooking so she'd imagined he wouldn't mind doing some outside of class.
Other students had started filing into class and working on their projects and eventually the teacher joined them, saying a few words but mostly letting them continue their work, which would have to be finished by the end of the period. Natalie was very grateful for Zach's help since she probably would have gotten an F for today without him.
