"Leave?" Felipe was genuinely confused. "Absolutely not, Lana," he stated. He wasn't all that sure what Asperger Syndrome was but the word autism was close enough to the French version - autisme - for him to understand. "But now I feel all the more guilty," he continued. "I promise you, I don't normally greet people like I did with you and I can't explain what prompted me to do so now. I really haven't a clue. It just... " He lifted his shoulders ina typically Gallic shrug. "... sort of happened."
He perched on the edge of her desk, making sure there was a bit of space between them both. No way did he want to bring about a reaction along the lines of the one moments earlier. "But no... please don't leave. Instead tell me what you are working on," he invited. "For myself I am struggling to locate a nearby fencing school. Swords," he added with a grin. "Not the sort that are erected around gardens!"
He peered at her computer screen. "It looks far more serious than my task," he said as he looked at the display. "Not only did I startle you but I also interrupted your homework." He grinned ruefully down at her. "I am doing well this afternoon, no?"

"Fencing? That's great.... wait I remember reading something about the West Los Angeles Fencing Club. They are supposed to be the largest club in the area and they have two members that have qualified for the Olympics, so I think they must be good. They are down on Exposito Boulevard in West Lost Angeles. You might want to check them out," Lana told him, drawing on her extensive memory. She wasn't a rainman, but she did pretty well. It certainly helped with her studies, keeping her out of Special Education. As long as she could keep focus during the day she was a good student.
"Oh... this, it is an assessment for the Office Unit in Computer Science. The program presents circumstances and then I have to perform the tasks necessary. It will show if I am proficient enough to move on to the Graphics Unit which they are starting on Monday. It should be easy enough, but is very long and tedious," Lana explained with a vague smile. "Really I am fine, you don't need to worry any longer." She was feeling very guilty for upsetting him so much. It wasn't logical, but then it still bothered her.

"Thank you," he replied with a bright smile as he scribbled the name of the fencing club down on a piece of paper he found on a neighbouring desk. "I will call them this evening. I'm sure I will be far from up to their standards if they do indeed train to Olympic standards but at least I am not a beginner." Hopefully he wouldn't make too much of a fool of himself. "Your work sounds very hard and impressive," he commented. "I should perhaps leave you to get on with it... if you are sure..." She nodded, telling him without the need for further vocal reassurance that she was, indeed, ok. For that Felipe felt an immense gratitude as guilt was still playing a major role. "I will be..." Felipe gestured to the desk he'd been using. "... over there... Ya know... if you finish sooner than you expect and need someone to keep you company." Her? Or him? More likely that would prove to be the latter. "And despite the circumstances I am very pleased to have met you, Lana," he added with a friendly smile. Sure, he'd scared her witless but it had been unintentional and he had a feeling she also realised that. He pushed himself off her desk and straightened his shirt... and with one final smile he wandered back to his own station. An interesting interlude for sure... and he hoped he and Lana would continue to meet after school like this. (wrapped? or tag for a wrap )

Lana gave Felipe her warmest smile. "I am glad we met as well, Felipe. It is good to have friends in a new place," she said watching as he returned to his station. He seemed very nice and she meant what she said about friends. Felipe was the only person that had talked to her all day and it was nice to know that not everyone in this school was cold. She forced her attention back to the unit, which was not an easy thing for her. (wrapped! )
