Pretty much everything Patch had said after passing him a beer Evan didn’t understand, something about a pig. So, he guessed it was something to do with soccer, which explained his complete and utter confusion. “Patch, as worried as I am to ask you, why don’t you teach me some soccer stuff or something sometime. Starting with Hamlet, or whatever it is. Or is it a he?” he shrugged.
“She has met me, and just so you know Mikey boy, she finds me a delightful young man. At least, I think that’s what those weird looks mean. I dunno. I mean, Patch, has your mum got a thing for me maybe?” Sniggering at the look Patch gave him, Evan quickly held his arms up in mock surrender, but moved his chair back a little nonetheless. “Just kidding, just kidding. But, mums love me, when they’re not around me for more than a minute at a time. Brit’s mum seems to like me, but, yeah, I’ve gotta put on my best behaviour around her.” he admitted with a grin.
“And I could be pranking you now Mike, in fact, you could be hit by the world’s best ever prank the moment you leave here. But, I’m not gonna tell you now and wreck my fun.” Evan wouldn’t prank here anyway, not in Patch’s house. Though mainly because he hadn’t thought about it until now, and he needed time to pull off a mad prank.
“Kian! What’re you doing?! Just go and spoil it all!” Evan tried to be annoyed, well, pretend to be annoyed, but the ever present grin on his face gave him away. “I was going to try to convince him he had to shave his head, or get dreads or something. Now that would be awesome.” he enthused, at the thought of a dreadlock adorned Patch.
He had to give it to their friend though, he had a decent mind for pranks. “Hell, I’d watch the show if something like that was on there. Next time there’s auditions, you should go to the closest one and do that. It’ll crack me up. We should all try out, do something stupid. I’d be one of those real bad singers, who gets all emotional and angry when they’re knocked back. Reckon I could fake cry.”
