Jamie watched him move. He was on the floor moving toward the bed like a predator hunting its prey. Was the prey her? She really needed to not think so much. Smoking got to her like this. She took everything too literal when she was smoking sometimes. Although the high had worn off thanks to the sleep, but still. Those words that grayson spoke had haunted her in her dream. Her lovely, dream that made her feel so good.
Jamie saw him at the end of the bed and she moved toward him. Jamie laid down on her stomach on the bed as she cam closer to him. Instead of taking the fork she just took the bite right off it. "Hmm, that is good." She said wanting another one and opening her mouth so that Grayson could feed her again. "Tell your mother to make this more often and if she want's help all she has to do is call." She said smiling.
Jamie looked at Grayson. She knew something had changed, but Jamie didn't want to change their friendship. She didn't want this moment to change anything between them, especially when she had no idea what the moment was. "How is your family dealing with the news? Must be hard on your mother." Jamie said. "She is lucky to have you for a son." Jamie told Grayson. She meant it to. He did so much for his family.

Gray ended up feeding Jamie the rest of the lasagna. "I'll be sure to tell her that." He smiled, forking up another piece of lasagna into Jamie's mouth. When she asked him again about his father, his jaw clenched and he ceased to feed Jamie. Dropping the fork noiselessly on the plate, he leaned backwards. "This isn't a slumber party, Jamie...I'm not sharing anything..." the words came out harsh and one look from Jamie made Gray bite back what he said.
"I'm sorry..." he awkwardly placed his hand on hers and squeezed it lightly. "Look...about my dad...let's just forget I ever said anything. I know we're friends and I know you're willing to listen but I'm not ready to dive into that. Not yet. You understand don't you?" He asked, looking up at Jamie, ignoring the weird tense moment they were having. He needed Jamie to be his friend. Another load of drama in his life would probably just make him mad.
"Maybe when I deal with it myself...I'll try and let you in on it." It was hard for him to admit that but he didn't want Jamie mad at him for being a complete douche.

It was hard to mask the look of hurt that crossed Jamie's face at Gray's harsh words. She had been asking out of concern, but that was obviously wrong. He was not ready and she should not push, but Jamie was worried for Grayson. She knew how hard it was for him to share his feelings and she just didn't want him to hold it all inside. But it was his choice. Jamie nodded when he asked if she understood. She did, she just wanted him to trust her. "Just...don't hold it all in okay. When you are ready, I am here. I will always be here." She said softly. If he didn't want to talk then she had to respect that. His father....Jamie knew that in itself was a hard topic.
The moment seemed to be gone. The tense, electrifying moment had passed. Whatever it was seemed gone and Jamie's heart felt heavy. She wanted to take the pain away from Gray. She wanted to hold him for once and comfort him, but she knew that meant he had to face things and admit he was in pain and Jamie knew Gray was not ready for that at all, just like he said.
So instead Jamie smiled a tiny smile and held his hand in hers, "So what do you say we watch a stupid movie that will make you laugh, eat some candy that will make you smile and do something that will make you forget...at least for now." Jamie offered. She patted the bed next to her. "Come lay next to me." She said hoping he would. She wasn't sure what was going through Gray's mind right now.
Had he had the same moment she had?. Hopefully, or perhaps it was all in her head. Stupid Jamie imaging things that are not real. There was no moment. Why would there be a moment? If there was it was one sided. Jamie should know better. She was and always would be only a friend to Grayson. Then again that's exactly what Grayson needed. He needed friends, not girls to hit on him. Especially not now, given what he was going through.

Jamie's reassurance brought up some feelings and emotions in Gray he wasn't ready or was even able to recognise and come to terms with. He only had a handful of friends he could really trust. Okay, so he only had two he could really trust and Jamie just got on that list even though he wasn't ready to tell all. He didn't want her pity. Of all people. He just didn't want her to look at him like a charity basket case.
Truth was, his father skipping out on them was the best thing he ever did. His mother strived and flourished in his absence and Gray eased into the position he seemed to have been born for. So in a way, his father did them a favour and Gray couldn't have been happier for it. He didn't need anything else in his life except his two girls and surprisingly, now...Jamie. It just seemed strange that it used to just be about weed with the two of them.
Gray looked up and saw Jamie's smile and her suggestion made him smile and nod. He got up, stretched and went in search of a stupid movie, some candy and jumped into bed with Jamie. Not a moment later, the room was filled with snickers and munching. Gray wanted so badly to just pull Jamie into his arms again but he refrained. He didn't want to freak the girl out. Not now...

Jamie moved over and grabbed a pillow. She stuffed it under her and laid her head as Gray got the movie and the snacks. Moments later they were laughing and eating. half way through the movie Jamie began a small food fight by throwing M&M's at Gray's head. "what you have the perfect target painted on your head." She said laughing as she popped soem M&M's in her mouth and paid attention back to the movie.
Once a few moments later Jamie picked up the pillow and hit Gray lightly. "Pillow fight?" She asked with a half shrug and hit him again laughing. She tried to get off the bed, but of course he was too fast and Jamie was stopped. "You would never hit a girl would you?" Jamie asked him. Of course it was pointless, but she ended up laughing anyway. She couldn't help it. Pillow fights and small food fights seemed like a good way to break the silence.
Sure there was a movie on in the back ground, but truth was Jamie just wanted to hear Grayson laugh. She felt a movie was not good enough. Perhaps that was just her. Maybe not, but Jamie could not help but smile and laugh wondering is Grayson would join in the pillow fight or declare her the victor after her two hits.
OOC: couldn't resist adding in a food fight and pillow fight..now you may tag or tag for wrap....

Gray didn't expect Jamie to throw food at him but what she said made him chuckle lightly. He didn't respond in kind though, letting her have her little fun. But when she hit him with the pillow...twice, she declared war and she tried to get off the bed but he managed to grab her wrist, stopping her. He pretended to mull it over. "You know what...I would never but um...Jamie...why are you hitting yourself?" Gray grabbed her other wrist that was holding the pillow and started to bop her face with said pillow repeatedly. "Oh my God, Jamie you're scaring me...stop hitting yourself what are you doing?"
He didn't even realise what Jamie was trying to do and he was already grateful for the distraction. "Dude, seriously stop hitting yourself." He laughed as he continued to hit Jamie with the pillow in her hand. He honestly couldn't remember the last time he had this much fun without getting high and it was all thanks to Jamie. The movie already forgotten, Gray had to continuously remind Jamie to be quiet. It was 4 am already. People were sleeping. But it didn't stop them from giggling like a pair of two year olds who were trying to go past their bedtimes.
