Theo sat out in the quad of the school a pair of ray bands covering his eyes from the glare of the mid day son, it was pandimonium as the students all left to get into the son. The school was seriously over heated, it didn't help that their were to many people in the school for the room that it had. Theo had an excellent lunch planned for him, his mother had prepared him some of his favourite food before leaving the house this morning. Which was probably a sign of the fact that she may want him to do something, or that they were about to tell him about some new hair brained idea, which would likely screw with his social life to some degree.
He loved his family really he did, but he could live without the melodrama at times, the one thing he liked about it all was that his mother still talked to him in sign language most of the time anyway. Theo lay spread out across the patch of grass he was on, he wasn't really in the mood to eat at that exact moment, so he was waiting for something to happen. Something that would either irritate him or make him laugh, on the flip side a hot guy or girl flirting with him would be just as good to him right about now. He was in one of those moods where he needed something to happen to motivate him into action.

Graham held Cera's hand as they strolled along the quad, looking for a place to sit and eat the lunches Cera had fixed for the two of them. So many students were outside, glad to be free of the confines of the school building if only for a little while, that he wasn't almost sure it wouldn't have been better just to stay in the cafeteria. But no, he wanted to bask in the sunshine as much as anyone else.
"Hey," He dropped his girlfriend's hand and pointed to a boy sprawled out in the grass, "Do you think he's okay?" He frowned, trying to decide if the other boy was lying like that by choice or if he needed to dart back into the building for a teacher. "That's that guy who plays the sax, isn't it?" He asked once he recognized Theo; he'd never talked with the Junior, but he'd seen him around, and he tried to keep up with all the talented brass players at Silver because he kept hoping he would be able to convince some of them to help him create a ska band. Sadly, he seemed to be one of the few people really enthusiastic about that particular genre.
He darted over to the boy's side, thankful that Annie had taught all her friends sign; otherwise he wasn't sure how he was going to interact with Theo, as he was under the impression that the mocha-skinned boy was as deaf as the little redhead girl. Are you okay? He practically signed in Theo's face.

Automatically leaning in towards her boyfriend as they crossed the quad, enjoying how the sun wasn't scorching. She was directed to the boy lying on the grass when Graham mentioned him. Squinting a bit, she could clearly see that he was indeed alive and well. She chuckled and nodded. "I think he is. Yeah that's Theo I think." Like her boyfriend, she didn't make it a point to talk to Juniors either but the guy was a pretty sick on the sax. He was definitely worth checking out at least.
So she hurried behind her boy to check for sure that he was okay. When Graham started to sign to Theo, Cera held back her laughter as she pulled him back. "Baby, I think he can hear you...hey Theo, are you okay?" Cera asked, placing a hand on the other boy's shoulder to shake him lightly.
Graham turned slightly to face Cera. "You sure?" He mused, before realizing that perhaps it was a tiny bit silly to assume that the guy with mad sax skills was completely deaf. Wow. Where had he gotten that idea from again? He couldn't remember, maybe Theo just had slight hearing problems.
"Oh." He turned red as realization hit. "I uhh I guess you...you....yeahhhh." He shrugged uncomfortably, backing away and watching as Cera took over. He felt incredibly idiotic, now; good thing Cera wasn't the sort to hold that against him. He hoped Theo wouldn't be offended.
Cera looked back up at Graham with a smile. "Help me up?" she held her hand up and gave him the smile she knew her boyfriend couldn't resist. "Want to join us for lunch over at the benches, Theo?"

Theo's thoughts were interupted by hands waving in front of him in sign language, "I can hear... you." Theo said in a restrained tone, but he had a huge smile on his face. It was funny to him when people didn't realise he had had the surgery to give him the ability to hear throught the implant. "And I'm fine... I decided to laze on the grass." Theo told him with a grin as he sat up avoiding hitting the boy above him.
"I'd love to join you both... I've been waiting for a reason to eat my lunch... call it looking for a sign." he said to her with a smile as he grabbed his lunch bag. He stood up and looked at the couple, his amusement at being spoken to in the way that Graham had. He was still getting familiar with most of the people in the school, he'd been to a couple of practices of several clubs, finding for the most part that the people in the clubs weren't quite up to the training standards he was. But he would live with that, for his family anyway, it hadn't crossed his mind to ask his parents to allow him to go home. "It's Graham right... well signing in someone's face while... it may sound like a good idea... is probably just going to lead to confusion." Theo said with a bright smile.

Graham grabbed hold of Cera’s proffered hand, feeling more and more silly as Theo spoke. “Sorry,” He apologized to the other boy. “Here I am having blonde moments, and I’m not even a blonde. Cera’s definitely the brains of this outfit.” He gave the girl a small smile.
“Sorry,” He repeated. “Just wanted to make sure you’re okay. Yeah, I’m Graham and this is Cera.” He nodded to the blonde whose hand he was still grasping. “You play the sax, right? I play trumpet, and Cera here does violin.”
He wandered over to the benches as they spoke, seeing as Cera had suggested as much. “So how’re you liking Silver so far? Pretty exciting, huh?” He knew that Theo was a fairly new addition to Silver’s student body, although he wasn’t sure exactly how long the other boy had been there. But he was new. Just in time for the schools to be forced together. Again. And for the shooting. There really wasn’t a quiet moment. “Some people say Silver is cursed.” He shared, “If you believe that kind of thing.”
He seated himself on the edge of one bench, diving into the brown paper bag holding the lunch Cera had prepared. “Mmm, looks great. As always,” He added.

As Cera got to her feet, it was almost instinctual for the blonde to lean into her boyfriend's arms. Hearing him apologise for something she knew he didn't know made her smile. That was Graham, her little cracker. She wasn't so much the brains but more of the calm to Graham's storm. Which she was glad to be, despite her gregarious disposition by nature. The smile he gave her still melted her heart. She was pretty lucky to have found someone as special just in high school.
"I do violin and clarinet. Though mostly I play the violin when there's nothing else to be played by the others. Clarinet's my band instrument. Though really I just play anything resembling an instrument." She babbled non-stop and paused only to breathe in. "And you've got mad skills on the sax, Theo!" She complimented the younger boy as they made their way to an empty bench, her hands gripping Graham's arms lightly.
Graham's notion that Silver was cursed was seconded by Cera who chuckled and nodded. "I mean really...rat infestation? You don't get rat infestation unless it's a curse, man."
Smiling at Graham's compliment on her lunch, she took out the rest fo the food and laid it out. Cera was used to cooking for an army. In this instance, at least she had two boys to enjoy it. She had decided to go simple and made chilli con carne, one big sourdough bread that she had hollowed out so Graham can either eat the chilli with the crust or the filling of the bread, and she had packed in two Fuji apples and one big bottle of homemade strawberry milkshake. So she had to wake up an hour early to prepare her lunches for Graham. It was way worth it. Graham was worth it.
"You can have my share if you want, Theo. Unless you have your own lunch. But feel free to mooch off us. I make a lot because Graham can pack a suitcase of food in him and never gain an ounce. So jealous of his skinny butt." Cera poked Graham's side affectionately and bumped him on the shoulder. "Eat up, cracker." She said before taking one of the Fuji apples and biting into it.

Theo smiled, "I'm actually a dancer who plays sax on the side... my parents wanted me to learn... an instrument which was pretty damn hard at the... time for obvious reasons. I couldn't really hear the play back so my tutors... had to tell me when I was going wrong. Trial by error." Theo told them. "It was easier for me to learn to dance... it was second nature to me... kind of like playing the trumpet or clarinet is to you guys." Theo said to them.
He knew that to be a truly great musician it was instintual rather than taught, he was good he knew that but he didn't think it was natural to him. Well it was how he saw it, maybe he was wrong. But until someone said otherwise it wouldn't change his opinion.
"Hell Graham I'm black and have afro... and I can tell you right now. I have blond moments." Theo said to him. "I left a New York stage school for a school in LA... where dance is a after school event. This place is one hell of an adjustment... but the people are great. I have yet to meet one person here I don't like... no thats a lie I really don't like the cafeteria staff. Or the smell that comes out of that place at lunch." Theo told them grinning.
He took out a tub of food, opening it up, "Thank you for the offer... but I'm set with food." Theo said as he took out the fork that he had packed in with it. "This may not look like the most appetising food to most people... but this is one of my favourite foods. And tastes a hell of a lot better than it looks." Theo told them.
"So have you guys been here long?" Theo asked them.

Graham grinned at Cera. "I skank it all off." He reminded her, as though she wasn't always with him when they attended concerts. Tiny, hole-in-the-wall venues were about the only venues ska bands seemed to play at, but Graham wasn't about to complain; they were affordable, and usually had small enough crowds that skanking wasn't a problem -- and even if he did occasionally step on someone, they were so busy skanking too they didn't care. "And you say that like you're not tiny yourself." He added, elbowing her back.
"A New York stage school?!" He had to admit that he was impressed. He'd never been much for the stage, unless one counted marching band -- although he would have liked to have been in an actual band. Still, the idea of getting up and performing a play or a dance was daunting to him. "The only dancing I've ever done is at concerts...." Which didn't count, as it wasn't choreographed.
He peered over at Theo's lunch. "Hmm, what is it?" He felt horrible that he had to ask; he probably should have been able to tell.
"Yeah, all my life pretty much," Graham answered, biting into the apple Cera handed him. "So ready to graduate. Silver's not bad or anything, but man, four years is enough. I'm so done."

Theo's little confession made Cera's eyes pop out. "Wow. Multi-talented. I told you Silver students were all awesome. You never listen to me." She playfully teased Graham before turning her attention back to Theo, laughing when he commented on the whole being black but still having blond moments. The younger guy was pretty funny.
The fact that Theo left a New York stage school in favor for another school really impressed Cera. "Dude, that is so cool!" She was already halfway finished with her apple and she set it down on the brown paper bag to listen intently to Theo. She laughed a little quieter when he commented on the cafeteria staff. Looking around, she made a show of making sure no one heard her before she leaned in and whispered to Theo conspiratorially saying, "That's why I never chance on going to the cafeteria. In Silver or in Gould. And besides, Graham loves my cooking so all the more reason for me to bring food from home." Cera grinned, only this time she didn't look at Graham - although she really wanted to - for fear of being labelled a sickly sweet puppy hanging off every one of her boyfriend's words.
She did love Graham to bits but one thing she had never liked were those couples who latch on to each other and acted like no one else lived in the world.
Graham's comment about smoking his fats off made Cera chuckle behind her mouth, shaking her head in amusement. His elbowing made her laugh even more. "Yes but unlikely you, one wrong food would go straight to my hips, thighs, waist and arms. Once I start going flabby, where will you be then?" She raised an eyebrow at him before starting back on her apple.
"I'm with Graham on that." Cera agreed with her boyfriend's comment on being pro graduating. "I need to get out of California. I really, really do." She shook her head and put her apple away in favour of starting on her chilli. She scooped some and fed Graham a bit. Theo's refusal of her food made her nod. "You can just ask if you want though."
"Baby, don't forget the park cleaning later." She said absent-mindedly before she looked up at Theo and grinned. Another helper would be a good thing especially since the park was pretty big. They could extra hands when they're available. It was also a good chance for Theo to meet new people! "You should come, Theo!" She invited him enthusiastically.

Theo looked at his food before looking back at Graham, "Is a tofu salad, for the meat eaters its rabbits food... for me its about as tasty as it comes." Theo told them. "I've been Vegan for a long time... I never really liked meat. My parents when I was little used to try and make... me eat the meat they put on my plate. But when I was about ten I think, I just turned and told them I don't... want to eat meat any more. I've been vegan for about four years... which means I don't eat anything to do with animals." Theo explained. "I have nothing against people eating meat, I just don't like the taste." he added.
When Cera mentioned Park cleaning, he had to rack his brain a minute to remember of the school event. Well if you could call it that, this was a way to probably teach the richer kids some respect of the lesser mere mortals in the world. It was pretty tempting to say that he had other things to do, but he thought that maybe it could be a little fun to actually show up. And if nothing else giggle when the people who weren't used to getting their hands dirty started bitching.
"I may have to show my face... usually don't go to those things... being the new kid on the block... I don't really know that many people at the school. But if you guys are going to be there I'll show up... I don't want to be Mr. knows nobody at this thing." Theo told them, he was really a pretty sociable person. So knowing no one really well at the school, was something that bugged him. "This place have good parking or should I expect to walk to and from it for an easier life?" he asked.
