Ian watched Brittany's face as she talked for he couldn't always tell by her voice if she was telling him the whole truth. It wasn't that she ever outright lied to him, but she would trim the truth sometimes to protect his feelings. "I was thinking if Zac got good enough on keyboards we could have him record his parts on drum pad or get a temp replacement to do drums as it is more jarring and exhausting than keyboards... I am not sure how he would feel, but it would get us up and running again faster," he said seriously. "I have a bunch of lyrics I jotted down in the hospital too. I normally like to work from music to lyrics, but it was such a waste during the times Zac was asleep that I thought we could try it the other way too." He finished his burrito and started on the beans and cheese.
"I know Aly is your step-sister, but Brit I honestly hope she never starts to grow on me, cause then I would have to have whatever part of me she is attached to amputated and I really don't want to go through that," Ian said quietly. He might not like the girl, but he wouldn't ever let his rude comments start circulating around school.
At the realization of the food fight, Ian upended his tray in the middle of the table so Brit could share his caf food for weapons and used the tray to defend his companion the best he could. "Die Warmongers!" he yelled as he began to hurl chicken pieces and green beans at anyone he saw that was participating.

"Yeah, well we can talk to Zac about it and see what he wants to do," Brittany said. Although it was true that the thought of using Evan had crossed her mind, it was also true that it felt weird to her having anyone but Zac sitting behind the drums. She would never make that call without consulting Zac first. It was too big of a move. "Oh yeah...can't wait to hear them," Brittany said excitedly. She usually worked opposite of Zac, she liked to come up with lyrics first and then she usually used Ian's help to get the music part. But then again Brit was more of a singer. While she did play the guitar, she usually thought more in lyrics first and then once she got a melody in her head she'd try to figure it out on the guitar. That's probably why they worked so well together as a band. While she usually did lyrics the others helped refine them and put them to music, which Ian usually created first. But even so, they all could switch roles in the song making process which also made it really cool.
"Yeah...I know," Brit said. "She's a total bitch most the time," she admitted, "but she did kind of save my life so I don't think I'm allowed to completely hate her anymore." Brit couldn't remember how much of the story Ian had got. He had been preoccupied with Zac's injury after all. But the gun had been aimed at Brittany's back and Aly had pushed her out of the way, causing herself to get shot instead. It was sort of a big deal and Brit knew that no matter what happened between herself and her step-sister from here on out, that they'd always have that between them and never be able to fully hate each other the way they used to.
Brit giggled as Ian seemed to prepare for battle with his food. It was a good thing he had cafeteria food too so she could safely save her beloved Taco Bell and spare the other food. While she hurled some of the chicken and no one in particular, a lump of mashed potatoes landed in her hair. She giggled again. "Oh the casualties of war," she said, grabbing a fistful of mashed potatoes to retaliate and watched them land on some unsuspecting student that she didn't know.
